I believe the Tigers should try to do what KC has done very recently. KC built a championship team on pitching, defense, and agressive baserunning. KC has the largest, widest ballpark, by some measurements. See reference

Comerica Park ranks #3 in terms of largeness and #2 in center field distance. This means it is a pitcher's park. Why not play to the park's natural strength? Try to have low-scoring games at Comerica Park with good pitching. Let the defense and agressive baserunning be the factor that puts the Tigers in the winning category. The power hitting fails sometimes when the baseball stays in bounds in the large 420ft center field.
