So 3 years wasn't enough for Avila to know what ausmus brings?? expect more of the same. Tigers F.O. has rocks in it's collective head.

Ausmus is only as good as players he manages. Lynn Henning blows the Tigers collective birzores.

I am normally on the conservative side of management changes but Avila and Ausmus need to go. They have proven they are not effective baseball leaders.

Ausmus is in over his head as a manager. He mismanages the pitching staff consistently. Too many times I've seen him "give a player a day off" when that guy is on fire.

Avila signed Pelfrey to a 2 year deal. I need no other proof that Avila is clueless but plenty of other evidence is there.

I'd give Avila more rope (by no means a ringing endorsement), but Ausmus should have been fired last year. Extending him after he's shown nothing is ridiculous.

Avila has a 5-year deal. $2M a year. I say let him work another season. But ... Pelfry and Aviles signings notwithstanding.

I guess the question for the people that think Brad is terrible...who is the manager out there that would take this team to the WS?

Pathetic but not shocked. Hope they enjoy another season with 80something wins and diddly shit to show for it. Looking forward to seeing Lowe and Greene in tight spots and pitching to studs with a base open in 2017. What a POS.

I should probably clarify that I'm actually in the small camp that holds players accountable and doesn't examine a game in hindsight for reasons why a loss is to blame on a manager.

Having said that, I honestly have no idea who a better fit would be at manager. But also I can't think of any redeeming qualities that Ausmus has shown since he's been here. Because the Tigers are in this perpetual state of "win now", he should be fired because he isn't winning now.

Brad IS terrible. My question: Why are the Tigers settling for him? IMO: Easier to finish his tenure than to cut him loose to find a replacement.

Too many unknowns next year with contractso. Better to bring the new guy in in 2018 I guess. If beautiful Brad wins we all win next year . If not start over

Bochy
Showalter
Francona
Baker
Snitker
Maddon
Mattingly

when I said "out there" I was talking about available...since we were talking about replacing him.

BTW...can you imagine the outrage on this board if Showalter left Britton on the bench for the Tigers in the play in game? The second guessers would demand his head on a platter!

Gabe Kapler in the time it takes for Ausmus to pack his office and go.

+12 in pythagorean wins. baserunning was terrible, but it was terrible under Leyland largely due to the way the roster was constructed. the bottom two baserunners have been on this team for a long time and dragged us down in that area, of course they have been excellent middle of the order hitters as well. It's hard to get a lot better at baserunning without sacrificing in other areas.

Pythagorean Wins entirely means the team was "lucky". How does that support your argument?

And while baserunning under Leyland was "up and down", it changed when he fired "3rd base coach" causing some of it. Ausmus has stood pat.
