Tribe now 12-1 against us this year. Our playoff hopes are slipping away as we are 3 back for the race for the last wild card spot. Need JV to step up in a big way today.

And it doesn't even matter since the Tigers can't hit anyone else Cleveland throws out there at them. This probably wasn't a good time of the season for the bats to go dormant again.

It's never a good time for the bats to go silent, especially at this point in time.

Miggy has 2 hits and is now one away from career hit 2,500 to become the 8th player to get that many in his age 33 season.

Verlander has allowed 0 hits going to the bottom of the 5th.

Tigers need a new hitting coach. They've had a couple hot streaks but looking at the whole body of work and this approach is not a successful one. They just don't do any of the little things right. Overly aggressive and horrible situational hitting. Hard to watch. This game was handed to them on a platter with Carrasco going down in the first inning and they still can't muster up a single run.

Tigers AWOL offense can't even manage a single run of support for JV vs 7 Indians pitchers in 8 innings, when he has a 1 hit gem ongoing...smh.

It's not the coach. It's the type of hitters we have. Firing Joyner does nothing.

Verlander has now received 4 runs support in his last 4 Games Started (26.0 Innings). Verlander has been doing his part.

I feel bad for Verlander, Miggy and Vmart. Another year is going to pass without a title in Detroit.

Justin Verlander — Threw 7 scoreless innings, allowing only 1 hit. He walked 4 and struck out 7.
Justin Verlander has struck out at least one batter in 312 consecutive games, tying Tom Seaver for the ninth-longest streak since 1913.

Miguel Cabrera — With 2 hits and a walk, he was the only Tiger consistently on base.

Tigers offense — Detroit’s offense continues to remain lost more often than not. Miguel Cabrera doubled in the first to reach scoring position before being stranded. No Tiger saw second base again until Jose Iglesias walked and stole second in the sixth inning. He made it as far as third before being stranded.

Stats and stuff
Indians starter Carlos Carrasco exited the game after two pitches when he was hit on the hand by a comebacker. He was diagnosed with a non-displaced fracture of his fifth metacarpal.

Miguel Cabrera reached the 2,499-hit mark. His next hit will make him the 100th player in MLB history to reach 2,500. He had a chance in the ninth but struck out.

Justin Verlander’s no-hit bid was broken up by the leadoff hitter in the sixth inning, Jason Kipnis.

Offense MIA again. Ausmus lets the reliever load the bases and keeps him in there. 8 indian relievers 0 runs allowed.

Per Elias Sports, Indians set an MLB record by using 9 pitchers in a shutout, during 1-0 win over Detroit.
Previous record was eight.

2016 Tigers RIP.

I do not feel bad for them. They are getting paid like world champions. In fact better than WC's. They are being paid to get this team over the hump. Like score more than 0 runs a game. Verlander did about all one can do in seven innings today. Where was the run support!

Some one needs to get there head on there shoulders. Because what a happing now is not working!

Wasn't watching the game. Why the hell did Assmunch intentionally walk Napoli and stick with Justin Wilson? Why not bring in a right hander and try to get Napoli to hit into a double play? Why does this butt head continue to make such stupid decisions?

Well I guess it's that time of the year again when we say...well...maybe the lions will be good this year. Lol

Zero runs off the entire Cleveland pen wow. Just wow..rip Tigers

Ilitch is too old or ill to think clearly enough to realize the GM to manager need to be fired + some players, traded, or not re-signed.

This structure of this team is a fucking mess.
Half the team goes to bat without a fucking clue how to make the opposing pitchers work, lack of plate discipline and pitch recognition, they swing at anything near the plate instead of waiting for a pitch in their happy zone to drive.

Tweet to Jason Beck;
Do the Tigers think the Indians are stealing pitching signs. Salty is throwing signs down as if someone is on second.

Ausmus: "We're careful about signs here. There's no accusation or anything. We're just careful with the signs here."

They might have their suspicions of playing in cleveland.

Funny you should bring that up. I thought about that when they mentioned how good Cleveland has been at home this year. I wonder if they do have something going on?

49-25 at home vs 37-37 on the road.
