Is that the same Rob Brantly that used to be in the tigers org?

Miguel Cabrera got a break in the first game of a doubleheader today against the Chicago White Sox. Victor Martinez will get a break in the second one.

Martinez is not in the starting lineup for Monday night's game against the White Sox. Ian Kinsler will bat in the second spot in the lineup and serve as the designated hitter.

Josh Wilson will bat eighth and start at second base.

J.D. Martinez and Kinsler are the only players in the starting lineup for the second game who also started in the first game. J.D. Martinez was the designated hitter this afternoon and will start in right field tonight.

I had no clue they had a double header today. And fyi....I'm on the west coast for work this week so i wont be able to start any game threads until next week.

Now here's a question their is good chance the Tigers won't end up playing 162 this year the yet unmade up Cleveland rainout won't be played unless needed to determine any post season spots so if the Tigers only play 11 more does that lower his required PA's from 510 to 507?

Tigers drop both games of the double header today with the soxs...at home, and combine for a grand total of 2 runs on only 7 hits in 18 innings of offense, 6 of the 7 hits coming in the night cap

Well....thats all just pretty damn craptastic

TM it's only 502 plate appearances.

Alex Avila's solo home run in the third traveled an estimated 417 feet and left his bat at 108 mph, according to Statcast. It marked his first home run since July 7 against the Mariners and just his third of the season. The homer was also Avila's first RBI since July 21 when he drove in a run on an RBI single, also vs. the Mariners.

With his two innings caught in the eighth and ninth frames, James McCann now has the most innings caught of any rookie Tigers catcher ever, with 880 2/3 innings. The previous record was set by Frank House in 1954, with 880 innings caught.

The lack of 0-2 offence has been a major problem in way too many games!

Do'h you're right, thanks KC make that 19 more plate appearances needed, and if they don't play that Cleveland make up game would he then only need 498 since the ave per game need is 3.1 rounded up to get to 502
