Another banner outing for the Tigers as we got 1 hit and no one else got on base in a 2-0 shutout loss.

We saw only 88 pitches from Samardjia who pitched a complete game shutout.

Fire Everyone!

They played already? Not even 1:30. Playing for last place.

That was mighty nice of Brad to throw a line up largely full of mudhens out there for Samerdzijua there in game 1. pfffstt guess brad is perfectly content with finishing dead last.

Yeah thanks Brad.

This was one of the worst games I have ever been to in all of sports. First rained out now a stellar performance from the call ups.

It's a double header. Each game is going to consist of about 1/2 starters and 1/2 bench players. What do you want him to do....play his regulars 18 innings in a meaningless double header?

STREAKS AND STATS:

Kyle Ryan's two-run, seven-inning start on Monday marked his best outing since his second start of the season when he went seven innings and allowed two runs on three hits.

Monday marked the ninth time that the Tigers were shutout by an opponent this season. Their last was on Sept. 9 vs. the Tampa Bay Rays for an 8-0 loss.

The last time the Tigers were held to one-hit was on July 18 when they played the Baltimore Orioles for a 3-0 loss.

Victor Martinez's single in the fifth gave him an eight-game hitting streak and he has hit safely in 23 of his last 31 games.
He is also now batting .332 with 37 doubles, 26 homers, and 108 RBI in 173 career games vs. the White Sox.

Drew VerHagen has allowed just three runs over his last 14 outings of 19 1/3 innings and opponents are batting just .212 against him in that span.

The Tigers turned three double plays, marking their 152nd of the season, which ranks second in the American League for double plays turned.
