It?s a windy day in Chicago, which could lead to some chaos on fly balls. The Tigers outfield, though, is pretty regular. It?s the infield where the final-series impact is evident. Andrew Romine starts at first base in place of Miguel Cabrera, who will start Saturday, according to manager Brad Ausmus. Josh Wilson starts at second base in Ian Kinsler?s spot. Victor Martinez, meanwhile, still has left quad soreness keeping him out of the lineup. He?s day-to-day, even with two days left in the season, but Ausmus hasn?t ruled him out from playing.

I believe that the Tigers can finish 4th yet if they take this series, not that they care about not finishing last or anything

Bad season overall, small consolation they won't lose 90,

As long as they finish with 8th/9th/10th worse record for a protected 1st round pick.

Draft Pick Status

The Tigers came into the day sitting in the No. 8 slot in the top 10 of the draft (CLICK HERE for why that?s important), a half-game ahead of both the White Sox and Padres.

More importantly, they?re 1 1/2 games up on the Seattle Mariners, the team closest to being able to knock another out of the top 10 spots.

The Tigers won?t end up in a tie at this point, since they?ll be playing one fewer games than the other non-contenders.

????????????????

No Makeup Game

With the Indians eliminated from wild card contention Wednesday night, there is no need for the Tigers to return to Cleveland on Monday to play the game from Sept. 12, postponed by rain

indians beat the redsox 8 - 2.

bogaerts 1 for 3 at .322

2 games left in the season for Tigers, Miggy looks good for his 4th Batting Title in 5 years.

Shitty Brads lose again, man those were some pretty horrible strike calls in that last inning though..wow the home plate ump musta been too cold and wanted it over...wussy ass

DET needs to win the remaining last 2 games to avoid finishing last in the AL Central.

They are 50-72 .410 WPCT since falling out of 1st place May 16th, 4 games worse than all other AL teams. They have given up almost a full run a game more than all other AL teams and they are 12th in runs scored. The team is 9th in defensive efficiency.
