Seems very ambitious (of course). The stadium itself should be awesome, but I'm leery of how they create these mini communities without footing the bill for private security.

This project looks absolutely wonderful and I couldn't be happier for the City of Detroit. Linking downtown with midtown has always been a challenge and this project takes a major step toward achieving that goal.

I don't see Gores footing the bill for a move/rental. The Pistons have a pretty good thing going with the Palace.

The Palace group has reported previously that they make more from concerts and events at the Palace than they do from the Pistons. The Pistons weren't the prime asset Gores saw when he looked at what the Davidson family was selling. I have heard it said that they lose revenue opportunities because of their NBA scheduling commitments.

Of course that is because people stay away in droves to avoid watching a Piston team that hasn't been viable in more than five years.
