Awesome , if he keeps playing to the level he has been this is a steal .
 
I'd imagine they'll work on a long term deal after this year, but this is nice to get the arbitration years out of the way.
 
Good contract, if he keeps hitting we probably will have gotten the best 4 years of his career for next to nothing.
 
Good contract considering the salary climate of the league. He deserve's it. Gives him two years to rake and land 20+ million. Bet you he is hard at work at it as I am posting this.
 
I think Casty could learn a lot from J.D.
Sometimes I wonder Casty works hard enough at it? I was hoping he would have gone to AZ this winter to work on defense and laying off pitches.

One of the great things I really dig about JD is his notebook. I think other young people could learn from that.

If the things you read about him are true he puts the time in. I just always see him as below average offensively and defensively

That has been the history. I am not convinced he is a breakout player in 2016 as a couple of writers have written. I sure hope he proves me wrong but don't see it. Time will tell.
 
They could have just gave him 12 mill a year for two years,I don't see the problem with that,He's worth it.Why all the drama.
