Tigers discussing trade with rockies

Matt Holliday turned out alright ever since the Cards got him from the Rockies...

COL traded Holliday to OAK for CarGo and Huston Street. It was OAK that then traded Holliday to STL as a trade deadline deal. Holliday was in the last year of his contract.

Holliday last 3 years in COL (ages 26-28)

Home 162.2 RC/650 .361 BAVG .430 OBP .669 SLG 1.099 OPS 12.4 PA/BB

Away 104.8 RC/650 .296 BAVG .370 OBP .486 SLG .856 OPS 11.3 PA/BB

Holiday first 3 years after COL (ages 29-31)

Home 118.9 RC/650 .309 BAVG .401 OBP .540 SLG .941 OPS 9.6 PA/BB

Away 112.0 RC/650 .307 BAVG .380 OBP .507 SLG .887 OPS 11.1 PA/BB

Holliday's away stats in COL and away from COL are very much within tolerance and his stats reflect an All Star caliber player.

Citing that certain players are better than Gose, Maybin or even Rajai Davis is folly. When you have the worst hitting outfielders in baseball, there isn't anywhere to go but up. Keep in mind DET traded for Gose after the 2014 season. They traded for Maybin after the 2015 season. Trading for any COL OFer is following that mode and does not improve the Tigers significantly to warrant such a thing.

The scary thing about the coors effect is power loss, not necessarily obp loss. I see a consistency in Cargo's power since he has a .224 Iso on the road. Cargo's power is for real, everything else, not so much. Do the tigers want to trade for a rich man's delmon young is not up to me though.

Cargo's away numbers scare me. Either one of the other Rockies Or'ers I am fine with as long as they are giving them away for nothing.
