Runs Batted In are based on opportunity and condition. Miguel Cabrera has batted 4th for DET from 2009 to 2011. He has hit 3rd the last 4 years. He split 2008 between 4th and 5th, primarily as 5th.

A. Gose, C. Maybin, J. Iglesias and A. Romine should never be allowed to hit if the team needs a run batted in. You could also add J. McCann and M. Aviles to the mix. They can barely get on base just to keep a rally going.

what is the last stat?

Where they primarily hit in the order over that last 4 years, with percentage.

For Example:

Anthony Gose (1151 PAs)

1 = 403 (35.0%)
2 = 24
3 = 5

5 = 13
6 = 16
7 = 48
8 = 104
9 = 538 (46.7%)

oh...that makes sense now. So the lower percentage probably means they are all over in the lineup?

Pretty much. Cabrera has the highest percentage hitting #3 with 98.9% of the time. The next highest is Ian Kinsler hitting #1 with 60.0%.

Combining the 2 closest hitting spots with the highest percentage.

1/2 = I. Kinsler 90.4%
1/2 = C. Maybin 43.9%
3/4 = M. Cabrera 99.9%
3/4 = J. Upton 79.5%

4/5 = V. Martinez 95.2%
