The Tigers have won three of the last four Opening Day matchups against the Royals, the most recent an 8-4 victory in 2010.

-6 Tigers players are on Opening Day Roster for the first time: Nick Castellanos, Tyler Collins, Luke Putkonen, Bryan Holaday, Ian Krol and Evan Reed

-JV makes his seventh career Opening Day start. He becomes the first Tigers pitcher to start seven consecutive since Jack Morris had 11 straight 1980-90.

-JV is 3-3 in Opening Day starts, but won his last 2.

I'm already tired of listening to Jim Price fluff the Tigers ...

Might be the closest Jackson comes to diving for a ball all year.

That rankles. The guy will not dirty his uniform.

2 outs with a slow-ish runner and JV killer Butler on deck. No reason he shouldn't have left his feet for that. Shouldn't have been that tough of a catch.

Still does not excuse a guy like Hunter not making that catch, I don;t blame Ajax...Hunter was right on that thing.
