Game 2: Royals @ Tigers Thread

Collins grounds into a double play, Kinsler out at 2nd, Gonzalez to 3rd

Ausmus challenges the call, Collins is actually safe at first, 2 runners on at the corners, 1 out

Cabrera on a full count hits one to Moustakas, throws home to get Gonzalez, Collins to 2nd, Cabrera to 1st, 2 out

Victor battles but strikes out, 3 out

Tigers lead 1-0 after 6

Vargas up to 91 pitches
 
Hosmer hits a soft fly to Jackson for the 1st out, 1 out

Butler grounds to Castellanos who throws a one hopper to Cabrera for a close out, 2 out

Gordon flies out to Collins near the foul line, 3 out

After 6.5, the Tigers still lead 1-0

Scherzer at 90 pitches
 
Hunter flies out to Gordon, 1 out

Jackson hits a deep line drive for a double, 1 on, 1 out

Avila battles into a full count after falling behind 1-2, but strikes out, 1 on, 2 out

Castellanos pops one up to shallow left, 3 out

Tigers lead 1-0 after 7

Vargas up to 106 pitches, this was probably his last inning
 
Scherzer coming out for the 8th

Perez hits a leadoff double, 1 on

Jarrod Dyson comes in as a pinch runner for Perez

Moustakas battling, but Scherzer gets him to swing and miss, Dyson remains at 2nd, 1 out

Krol and Al Al warming up

Cain looks at strike 3, huge strikeout for Max, Dyson still on 2nd, 2 out

Ausmus walks out to the mound, looks like he's going to let Max finish this inning

Escobar pops out to Hunter for out #3


Tigers lead 1-0 after 7.5

Tigers give no cushion for Nathan, he'll have to work with a 1-run lead...but that's why he's making the big bucks

bigger question is why do they play Davis vs. a righty, but sit him vs. a lefty?

Collins might hit leftys good, but the only time Davis is going to be useful is vs. a lhp, and he sits today.
