Mike Aviles returns to the lineup in right field against lefty Drew Smyly, as does James McCann — he of the two home runs off his former college teammate — at catcher. On the Rays side, former infield prospect Nick Franklin gets the Aviles-type role, starting in left field with Desmond Jennings out.

On a side note, Indians and Blue Jays locked up in a 1-1 battle. 17th inning. I hope Blue Jays win in 30 innings. Frickin' A

Maybin is an absolute stud now that he only tries to hit singles.

Indians won in 19. Unbelievable streak they're on.

If they're worried about keeping Fulmer's innings under control, why still have him in up 7-0 in the 7th?

Nice to finally have a game with the other team being the one to bring in a postion player to pitch

Guys on the radio could only come up with his pitch count being at 75 through 6. Bradley being Bradley I suppose.

Michael Fulmer: Michael Fulmer has jumped almost directly from Double-A to the majors, and he's been one of the elite starters in the game in the first half.

Michael Fulmer hasn't allowed more than one earned run in an outing since May 15th, against the Baltimore Orioles.

Fulmer becomes first Tigers starter since at least 1913 to allow one or no runs in eight consecutive starts.

Victor Martinez: Just a pair of three-run missiles from both sides of the plate. A six RBI night for the Tigers' designated hitter.

Cameron Maybin: Whether he's setting the table or cleaning the dishes, Maybin has been spectacular.

Victor Martinez has 3 multi-HR games this season (last, 6/26 vs. CLE). He's also homered from both sides of the plate for the 2nd time this year.

Victor Martinez's 6 RBI are the second most he's had in a game in his career. He had 7 RBI on 7/16/2004 at Seattle.

The Tigers have scored 10 runs in 3 straight games for the first time since scoring double-digit runs in 4 straight games from 7/28-8/1/96.

Mark Lowe has now allowed runs in 8 of his last 10 appearances.

Damn indians .. jeezz. Three blue Jays were ejected arguing balls and strikes with the home plate ump. The pitches were called a strike and they were not even close to a strike .

Tigers are 8-3 last 11 and yet dropped three games off the indians pace :/
