We just do not have a good bullpen . It can pitch good in streches but in the long run its just not very good.

Yeah probably.
Most teams' records against under .500 teams is better than their records against teams that are over .500.
Which kind of makes sense.

I shut down at about 10. Just knew the bullpen and ausmus handling of it they would screw this game up.
Justin Upton: a home run and a single tonight. Could he have finally turned the proverbial corner?
Nick Castellanos: Big dinger. And a walk.
Miguel Cabrera: 0-for-4 with four runners left on base. Even the best have bad days.
Justin Wilson: The tying and go-ahead runs scored with Alex on the mound, but giving up a single to Tulowitzki is far more forgivable than loading the bases with a one-run lead.

Justin Upton had his 16th multi-hit game of the season, and hit his ninth home run. Last year, his ninth (and 10th) home run came on May 17.
Nick Castellanos' home run in the fourth inning left his bat at 108 miles per hour. It was his 17th of the year, after hitting only 15 home runs in nearly 600 plate appearances last season.
James McCann broke out of a mini-slump, hitting a single and a double. He was 1-for-16 in the last five games, and this was his eighth multi-hit game of the season.

Alex Wilson allows too many inherited runners to score, But Assmus brings him in w/ bases loaded instead of fresh arm Frankie Rodriguez who last pitched a 4 out save back on June 1.

In the years DET DID NOT have a winning season, they did not win more than 46.4% of the time against teams .500 or better. This year's percentage is the 2nd lowest in the last 11 years. Whether it is SFG, STL, KCR or BOS, playoff teams beat bad teams, but they at least play the good teams even, if not better.

Bad Ausmiss once again manages with his lizard brain. Sparky would have brought in K-Rod in the eighth at some point. Maybe to even start the inning.

When your starter only goes 5 2/3 innings you are going to have to pitch a few relievers. You can't run your closer out there for 3 1/3 innings
