BLUE JAYS (career numbers off Pelfrey).

Edwin Encarnacion, DH (2-for-13, HR, 6 walks, K)
Michael Saunders, LF (0-for-2, walk, K)

Troy Tulowitzki, SS (7-for-20, double, HR, 2 walks)
Justin Smoak, 1B
Kevin Pillar, CF
Darwin Barney, 2B (0-for-3)
P: J.A. Happ

Mike Aviles gets the start in right field against Jays starter J.A. Happ, who has actually allowed a higher average agianst left-handed hitters this year (.275) than righties (.236) and is just about even from either side for his career. That said, with right-handers Aaron Sanchez and R.A. Dickey looming the next two days, this is Ausmus’ chance to get Moya out of the lineup this series if he wants him to sit a game.
As for the pitching staff, Bruce Rondon seemed to be feeling better today after being sent back to the hotel with illness yesterday. No word yet on his availability for the game tonight, but it would seem like a decent shot. Also, no word on Tigers starters for Saturday and Sunday yet. Hoping to get info on that after the game, or at least before first pitch on Saturday.

Pelfrey live so close to the edge. One can see how he can fall off it from time to time!

Just pelfrey being pelfrey, living on the edge man....I think the tigers better get a bunch of runs

First off I have not given up on this season. Dead line trades can and have changed a season around. But in all honesty for this team to compete. Changes need to be made. IE this team as is will/cannot win in the playoffs. First off not in this order. The player leading the team in strikeout needs to be gone. the starter leading in highest ERA needs to be replace. The player leading in making outs on the base path needs replaced. The player leading in making DP's needs to be replaced.

At least one of these things need to be done at the trade dead line for this team to make the play offs . And more than one need to be done to advance in the play offs.

And this team has to get younger and more flexible. And better base running!!!!!

Bottom line team doesn't have the pitching and the bench is way too weak..the offense is over aggressive at times and doesn't force pitchers into throwing strikes like tonight but all in all this isn't there biggest problem...the biggest problem is the pitching on the whole sucks

that'll likely do it offesne was a no show tonight, tigers have now dropped 4 of 5 after starting the road trip with a four game sweep in Tampa

Actually, because the offense is station to station.

And becuase Aviles sucks, the previous hitters to get them loaded worked the counts took some close pitches didn't over swing then point and swing the bat around at the sky guy comes up rolls it over and ends the inning on the first pitch he sees..unacceptable

Pen strikes again, game now officially over pending six more easy outs

We are in agreement there, unfortunately (for the Tigers).

One other thing. Tigers got to stop picking up these retreads!

Parnell will now be sent down again for whomever turn it is to come back up again from the collective group of who cares and pfsst's on the farm
