Lobstein was placed on the DL with a sore shoulder. Buck Farmer will start Thursday.

Both pitchers have struggled with the long ball, but Sanchez has had the bigger issues. In his last start, Tuesday against Milwaukee, the right-hander surrendered three straight home runs and was pulled after 3 2/3 innings.

Hernandez, who earned a win in his last start by tossing six innings of two-run ball against the Athletics, has allowed home runs in five of his eight starts this year.

Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera (.359 batting average, three home runs) and outfielder Rajai Davis (.429 average) both have had success against the righty.

Detroit second baseman Ian Kinsler entered Saturday's game batting .329 with 17 doubles, four triples and 12 home runs against the Astros throughout his career.

Colby Rasmus has the most experience of any Astros hitter against Sanchez. The outfielder is 4-for-19 with 11 strikeouts and a home run in 22 plate appearances.

After Joba Chamberlain pitched a perfect eighth inning against the top of the Astros' lineup on Friday, Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said the right-hander has earned the setup role for the time being.

Looks like the shitty version of Sanchez showed up again today. 2-0.

Maybe we should just go to the bullpen now....Tigers BP leads mlb with a 1.22 era in the month of May.

Sanchez gives up 3 runs, 3 hits, a balk and a wild pitch in the 1st inning. We're going to need some hot bats today.

Glad to see Gose was patient and just kept the bat on his shoulder for a 6 pitch walk. Smart.

Pitcher walks the first two but home plate ump gives him two very boarder line pitches to miggy what a bunch of crap

Miggy has a 12 game hit streak, his longest in 2 years. Last year his longest was 11 games.

Wow, everyone is being patient. Holladay comes through with a 3 run double! 5-3.
