Miggy gets his 1st day off of the season. He’s available off the bench if needed.

This is the Tigers only lengthy west coast trip this season. We have to come out and play Seattle for 3 games just before the all star break and that’s it.

The A’s have the worst winning percentage in the league but only have a run differential of -7. A’s are 5-14 at home and 3-13 in day games. A’s are trying to get their 1st 3 game winning streak since Aug 7-9 last season. Tigers are 12-7 on the road.

Starting pitcher Shane Greene has held opponents to a combined three earned runs over his last three starts, despite a win and two no decisions. In his last outing on May 20 against Milwaukee, he allowed two earned runs on three hits in 6 1/3 innings and earned a no decision. His numbers during the day are just as good: 2-0 with a 3.72 ERA, allowing eight earned runs in 19 1/3 innings.

Athletics starter Jesse Hahn is feeling the lack of help himself. Hahn allowed three runs on five hits in six innings pitched in a loss to Houston on Wednesday and is without a win in his last five starts. During that span, he's allowed 18 runs in 27 2/3 innings.

The Tigers start shortstop Dixon Machado today. Machado, 23, was called up on Sunday from Triple-A Toledo to fill the role of an extra utility infielder. Jose Iglesias (left knee) remains day-to-day and will likely return this series.

Ian Kinsler remains in a hitting funk after going 0-for-4 with a walk on Sunday. He walked in his first at-bat, hit into a double play in the second inning, struck out twice and grounded out. Kinsler's 0 for his last 16 and hitless in his last 17 plate appearances.

A’s may get Ben Zobrist back early ahead of his originally projected mid- June return from knee surgery. Zobrist went 11 for 25 (.440) in his last six meetings with the Tigers in 2014.

The weather forecast for the Bay Area calls for sunny skies and temperatures in the low to mid 60s.

Not that there's ever a great time to rest Miggy but I don't particularly like it when he is on a 12 game hitting streak and hit a homer yesterday. Oh well. Hopefully we figure out a way to win this game and Perez has himself a nice day at the plate.

Well the Royals finally took a beating....and from the struggling Yankees. Hopefully Yanks get back on track for this series.

Oh no.. Triple A line-up with a gaffe at SS...

Nice drop Kid.. This is the big leagues.. You have to catch the ball..

No harm.
Come on Jet lag Tigers.. This is the 16-30 A's... Hit some!!!

Poor Mr. Greene No offense at all.. shoddy defense behind him and now the shit-hole A's have runners on first and third and no outs..

Good thing Tigers hitters have seen a tad over 60 pitches today in 6 innings.. Just hacking away on offense today..

1 down..

Twins are winning so welcome to third place and playing much better then we are with a much worse roster.
Nothing like watching a underachieving team..

4-0.. Brad is clueless.. He has no feel for when his pitcher has lost it..
Greene should have been yanked 2 batters to late..

I'm really hoping that Miggy's ankle isn't going to be a big problem going forward.

I did not know he was hurt.. Damn we just can never seem to be healthy.

I was wondering why we had a mostly triple A Line-up out there..

Perez 1b .077 (Can't be moved because he is out of options).
Collins RF .222
Machado ss .000

Just sweetness...lol

For as many times as we've scored 2 runs or less this year that is the 1st time we've been shut out this year. Although I'm not exactly shocked when you look at that line up. And I had a bad feeling we'd lay an egg against a bad A's team.
