AL Playoff Thread 2014

With 33 games left and the Tigers at 70-59, 19 at home. Got to go 2-1 against the Yank. As they're only 2 back in the loss column for the second wild card! The WS a sub .500 team are way behind but the Tigers have to go 3-1, need 4-0 at there place. The Tribe got us started off on the wrong foot after the ASB we need to get some payback Starting September 1st Need to go 3-1 at there place as well. And that's a problem Tigers have 3 more 4 games series to go, including the last series off the season against these Minnie twins. That's 12 games that goes 2 and 2 too many times. 6-6 in those games will not get it done! That leaves 6, 3 game series. The SFG series is at home need 2-1. The rest are against Division teams including 6 with KC! Got to drill them at least 4-2.

Tigers could very well get 20 of these games in the win column By just winning series and tying the 4 gamers. But will that be enough? IMO take no chances it's 23,24,25. That would give them 95 wins and that should be enough to make the playoffs. Will it win the division? Might as KC has 4 with NY, 4 with Bosox 6 with Tigers, 6 with Tribe, That's 20 that could bust them. And I never count Texas out 3 more. 3 with thee twins and 7 with the WS. Right now I like our schedule better than KC's
I know going 25 and 8 seems to be a dream right now. But that's how I see it being the way to win the Division as o now.

LA Angels take the West again over Oakland, they'll beat each other up again this weekend in a 4-game series.

Say we get to the playoffs.. NObody in our bullpen can hold a lead. We'll be toast unless we score 8-10 runs per game.

With our starters, complete games will be a dime a dozen. Like why else would put so many eggs in the starter basket. Leave the bench short, the bp needing, the starting line up1/3 empty.

Detroit has gained control of the 2nd wild card spot and is just half a game back in the Central.

Detroit and KC are now tied for the AL Central lead, they are also tied for the 2nd wild card spot. If the season were to end today, the two would play each other in a one game playoff at Detroit, the winner would win the division and the loser would get the 2nd wild card spot.

Texas is mathematically eliminated from the AL West

While the standings say they're a half game out, most likely they're tied. Kansas City has 3 outs on Sep 22nd to score two or more runs or they have another loss.

That's silly. Tigers are 9-4 against the Royals. Make that the tie-breaker. Gawd how I hate the present playoff format.
