Game 137: Tigers @ Cleveland Sep 1st

Tigers win easily and the Kate Upton nudes surface. What a glorious day!!

For an offense that's been shit on all year here, the Tigers today passed Oakland for the lead in runs scored for the season. They now lead all major categories in offense. Runs, AVE, OBP%, SLG% and OPS. Not too shabby

Gotta say that's a pretty shocking stat.

23rd in era, 24th in WHIP and 23rd in BAA

A lot of people love to blame the offense but I think those stats are pretty damning.

Miguel Cabrera hit his 383rd career home run in the first inning, tying him with Larry Walker for 62nd in MLB history

and his 245th with the Tigers, tying him with Cecil Fielder for fifth in team history.

His home run in the eighth was his 384th career homer, tying him with Harold Baines for 61st in MLB history.

Cabrera's seventh inning hit also was his 2,150th hit, tying him with Yogi Berra and Ed Konetchy for 201st on the all-time MLB hit list.

Cabrera now has 20 multiple-homer games as a member of the Tigers, tied with Rudy York for sixth most in team history.

Cabrera also has his 25th game with four-or-more hits as a member of the Tigers, tied with Harvey Kuenn for fifth most in team history.

And finally (two years later when you finished reading all of this) Cabrera has 36 four-hit games in his career, tying him for 57th in MLB history with several players, including Al Kaline.

The indians activated the Shinebox Ryan Raburn from 15-day DL. He's in lineup tonight vs. Tigers.

Prior to today's September 2 game, the Tigers recalled the contracts of left-handers Kyle Lobstein, Robbie Ray and Kyle Ryan and right-hander Buck Farmer from Triple-A Toledo. Lobstein will start tonight's contest at Cleveland.

Official scoring change from 9/1 at CLE: Miguel Cabrera has been given a single on a play originally ruled an error for Mike Aviles.

With the scoring change, Cabrera finished the game with 4 hits, giving him his 4th 4-hit game of the season and the 36th of his career.
