Since KC said he wouldn't be around to start this one. Weather shouldn't be an issue today as the forecast calls for sunny skies and temps in the mid 50s. Here are today's lineups:

Boston

Brock Holt DH
Dustin Pedroia 2B
Andrew Benintendi LF
Mitch Moreland 1B
Pablo Sandoval 3B
Jackie Bradley Jr. CF
Chris Young RF
Marco Hernandez SS
Christian Vazquez C

Eduardo Rodriguez LHP

Detroit

Kinsler 2B
Castellanos 3B
Miggy 1B
VMart DH
Upton LF
Mahtook RF
McCann C
Jones CF
Iglesias SS

Zimmermann RHP

Boston is still without Betts, Bogaerts, and Hanley Ramirez. This is an important game to take in my opinion. Really would be nice for Zimmermann to get off to a good start to the season. Boston will have Porcello and Sale going the next two games, so hopefully the Tigers can get this one today.

Wow a quick inning for once! Jordan gets em' 1-2-3 with one strikeout too. 9 pitch 1st inning.

Right back at ya. Rodriguez also gets out of the 1st with 9 pitches and strikes out Miggy on 3 straight pitches.

Not sure if Miggy's unusual spring training schedule has affected him? He has swung through a lot of balls to start the year. Hope he gets himself together soon.

Moreland leads off the 2nd with a double to right. Two long fly ball outs later he scores on a sac fly by Bradley. 1-0 Red Sox, Tigers up to bat in the bottom of the 2nd.

Zimmermann at 30 pitches

Was it last year or the year before miggy had a sub par April? In his first at bat there today I thought it looked like he was trying to force it

Walk by Vmart but he's erased on a fielders choice. Upton gets caught trying to steal on a close play. A fan apparently ran on the field causing a minor delay as well...

After two it's 1-0 RSox

Zimmermann allows a double, walk, and single to Vazquez, Holt, and Pedroia to load the bases. Gets out of it with a DP to end the top of the third. Dodged a bullet there.

Zimmermann at 54 pitches, 39 for strikes.

Kinsler and nick both then robed of hits on good defensive plays..damit

Miggy the only starter left without a hit this year after that Iggy homer. Crazy

Zimmermann allows a leadoff single but no more in the fourth. 1-1 tie Zimmermann now at 70 pitches (50 strikes).

Nick Lidstrom joined Mario and Kirk in the booth too. Totally forgot tomorrow is the last game at JLA

A little late getting on today. Had family over and lunched out ,getting back from it. Good to see Zimmerman has us tied at 1-1. Upton just made a great play to end Bosox half.
I guess Igesias got into one.

Game on mlb network here in sunny southern Illinois.
