Miggy to DL for first time in career

Going to break his 100 RBI season streak. Could have won another BA title, too hard to get the required PA required I'm sure. Oh well..

Miggy has had 11 consecutive seasons of 100 or more RBI and 300 or more Total Bases as well.

and JV was only gonna miss his 1st start coming out of spring training.

Detroit Tigers' Miguel Cabrera continues to make progress in return from calf strain.

Sudden movement -- either out of the batter's box or on a ground ball to first base in a game situation -- will be the final hurdle he has to clear.
"He's a ways from getting into a game," Ausmus said. "It's really kind of the first step. Getting out of the batter's box or trying to get a good jump on a ground ball, that is more the issue. First move from a dead stop is probably more risky.
Cabrera spent seven or eight minutes running at 70 percent of his body weight on the AlterG treadmill Friday.
"So he's kind of building up," Ausmus said. "But he was tired at the end. He said he was tired at the end of the Alter-G session. ... But hitting doesn't seem to bother him."

DET is 14-20 .412 WPCT since Miggy went on the DL. They have scored 4.32 R/G in that time. Prior to him going on the DL, they were averaging 4.38 R/G, virtually no change in offense.
