Tigers @ Rays 7-27-15 Game #99

No moves to announce. And David Price is still scheduled to start tomorrow for the #Tigers, Brad Ausmus confirmed. per Schehmel mlive

Bruce Rondon had much better minor league stats then major league stats.. damn it all to heck what the frack is his deal? Must be the Jeff Jones factor..

I don't know what these guys are doing..Brad looked defeated and mentally dejected in the post game..and he wasn't wearing his cap, he could use a haircut

dodgers have tons of guys at tripe A... raid them.. Start with Austin Barnes (25) and keep adding.. No one will give up their top prospects probably so we ma as we get quantity ans see if a few will hit.. The kid probably is a sub par fielder as they have him listed at a bunch of spots.. Tigers need a bench and then some..

Not much to say about circumstances when they have not changed since April 21.

Been terrible since April and yet they still carry on as if it's going magically change somehow.. You know what they say about doing the same and expecting different results, that's we're at..and we just fell to 4th..:-(

STREAKS AND STATS:

Casali's blast in the third was Sanchez's 22nd home run allowed of the season. The last Tigers pitcher to allow that many dingers in a season was Max Scherzer in 2012, with 23.

After recording two outs in the sixth, Krol has a 1.42 ERA since July 11th, and has stranded all five of his inherited runners in that span.

Cespedes' seventh-inning home run ended a twelve-inning scoreless streak for Karns.

The loss ends a streak in which the Tigers had won the last eight starts by Sanchez dating back to June 3rd. Sanchez has pitched to a 4.66 ERA over that period, and has failed to finish the seventh inning in his last four starts.

Alex Wilson added another scoreless inning to his record, driving his season ERA down to 1.84. He last allowed a run on July 7th.

Price and Kinsler for Turner and Barnes and three of four other minor league players including a pitcher or two in there.

Are they even trying to win? Down 1 and Rondon is their answer?

The team is 6th in the wild card spot, no way they're passing 4 other teams.

Seems impossible but a 5/6 game winning streak would put us right up there.

And then they would have to play above .500 ball after that. Something they haven't done since they started 11-2.

Since April 20th (11-2) = 37-49 .430 WPCT

They have 63 games left.

First 63 games = 33-30

Last 63 games = 26-37 (worst record in AL)

Currently 48-51, they have to go 33-30 just to finish the season 81-81.

MIN in the last Wild Card spot, is 52-46. They have 64 games left.

First 64 games = 34-30

Last 64 games = 33-31

So, if they just continue being consistent, MIN finishes at least 85-77.

Is it possible for DET to go 38-25 .603 WPCT the rest of the way and win the last Wild Card spot? Certainly. But since starting 11-2, they have not even had a winning streak longer than 3 games. In fact, since starting 11-2, they have consistently been one of the worst teams in the AL. The 11-2 start just conceals that fact.

Last 63 games = 26-37 (worst record in AL)

And that is why everyone wants them to start selling in the hopes that it won't be another 10 years or more before they are competitive again. And yet people think it's still possible they will get on a roll? with what starters and bullpen would such a possibility exists?
