How long will Price continue to wear the Old English D? Price has been just a little less brilliant at home this season. He has a 3.33 era in 8 starts. Lefties are hitting .267 and righties .235 against Price this season. Price has gone more than 6 innings just once in his last 6 matchups against the O?s. Tigers are 15-3 when he takes the mound.

Tillman has struggled most of the season. Lefties are hitting .273 with a .340 OBP and righties are hitting .314 with a .385 OBP. He has been better as of late. In his last 3 starts he?s pitched 17.2 innings and gave up 4 runs. Tillman hasn?t lost a decision since May 31st and the O?s have won 6 of his last 7 starts.

Current Tigers are hitting .247 (21 for 85) with 2 home runs against Tillman. Gose has a 11 game hit streak (.385) and is 6 for 12, VMart is 4 for 10, Kinsler is 4 for 16 with a homer and Avila is 1 for 6 with a homer. McCann is batting .437 during his 8 game hit streak. JD has hit 13 homers in his last 20 games and 17 homers in his last 31 games.

The O?s are batting .277 (57 for 206) with 15 doubles and 3 home runs against Price. Wieters is 15 for 41 (.366) with 6 doubles, a homer and 14 k?s and JJ Hardy is 12 for 36 (.333) with 5 doubles and 10 k?s against Price. The O?s, who were MLB?s top hitting team with runners in scoring position, are batting 8 for 95 (.084) with runners in scoring position during their current 3-11 stretch.

Tonight's forecast for Detroit calls for mostly sunny skies and no chance for rain. Temperatures are expected to reach 89 degrees around first pitch.

Avila needs to bat 9th, and I wouldn't bitch so much. lol

Well at the moment it certainly looks like there be some rain in about an hour or so...perhaps it will just all desolve before it gets there

from a detnews Tigers link today;

The new lineup has clicked. In 11 games, the Tigers have scored 67 runs and are hitting .314 as a team, with a .906 OPS.

Kinsler is hitting .349 with a .926 OPS since moving to the top spot. Gose, since moving down, is hitting .419 with a .710 slugging and a 1.164 OPS. Cespedes is hitting .320 with a .920 OPS.

Victor and J.D. Martinez have thrived, as well. Victor hitting .383 with a 1.119 and J.D. is hitting .341 with a 1.182 OPS.

Gose is on an 11-game hitting streak but he doesn't think it has much to do with hitting in the No. 9 spot.

Yeah, looking at the radar, I'm gonna go out on a limb, and say there's a good chance.

Okay, Tillman is garbage. Start scoring some damn runs!

Price isn't going to last 6 at this pace so the offense better find a spark soon.

O's are 34-19 when scoring first. Tigers are 6-30 when they don't score first.

Offense not looking good so far tonight can't seem to figure Tillman out...not what you want to see as a follow up to a nice second half start game last night

One step forward one step back, forward back. Back forward, back forward, Forward back, forward back

Ad nauseam

Clown Shoes Nick Castellanos is the worst fielding third baseman I have ever seen in a Tigers or any teams's uniform.

It's actually laughable that it's just his 6th error of the year.

That is unbelieveable! The official scorers are very generous, away games they want the home team to give the home team a hit, Comerica they don't want to give him an error.

Many of the grounders are right at him and not scorched, yet he still finds a way to frig it up more often than not.

So we had a lead off single and a walk to VMart in the 1st and then nothing else.

Well Price did a damn fine job as usual. Someone give him some help.

Nobody can seem to catch up to 93/94 fb's from tilman...I don't get it

That 3-4-5 7th was pathetic
