Will the Tiger offense make an appearance today? Can we get another solid pitching performance…and from Simon? The Red Sox broke an 8 game losing streak last night. The Tigers have lost 8 of their last 11 games and are 10.5 games back of the 1st place Royals and now 5 games back of the Twins for the last wild card spot.

Simon broke his streak of giving up 5 runs or more in 5 consecutive starts his last time out against Seattle…but he still gave up 4 runs in 5.2 innings. Simon has struggled on the road. He has a 6.08 era in 9 road starts. Lefties are hitting .314 and Simon has given up 10 of 11 homers on the season to lefties. Simon has a 9.31 era in 4 July starts and has failed to make it 6 innings in any of them. He’s gone 7 games without a quality start.

The right handed knuckle-baller Wright is being recalled from Triple A for the 2nd time in a week and is getting a spot start today for Eduardo Rodriguez. He was called up last week to start one of the double headers against the Angels. He lost and gave up a career high 6 runs in 5 innings.

Only 2 Tigers have faced Wright. Kruass is 1 for 3 with a walk and Gose is 0 for 2. Kinsler has 5 straight multihit efforts, batting .451 in his last 12 games and .415 in his past 10 at Fenway. The Tigers failed to homer for the 2nd consecutive game and are now 4-22 when they don’t hit a home run.

The Red Sox are hitting .200 (5 for 25) with 1 doubles and 1 home runs against Simon. Pedroia is 2 for 6 with a homer. Boston is 2-16 since June 8 when Pedroia is part of the lineup and 14-7 when he isn't. Pedroia hasn't played at Fenway since June 24 and is batting .406 during a 17-game hitting streak there. Bogaerts is hitting .397 in his last 17 games. The Red Sox have scored 14 runs in 8 games since the all star break.

Miggy joined the team yesterday for the 10 game road trip and took batting practice.

The forecast for Saturday calls for mostly sunny skies and highs in the low to mid-70s.

God I hate the redsox, bunch of whiny self entitled cunts.
hate losing to them.

Clown shoes with the 2 run double, Simple Simon with 70 pitches after 5 innings, exorcism for the bullpen.

Tigers lead 4 - 1,

STREAKS AND STATS:

Nick Castellanos added three RBI on a pair of hits today, bringing his total to 20 runs driven in since June 23. Castellanos entered the game batting .304/.356/.511 in his last 26 games.

Statcast measured Yoenis Cespedes' home run in the first inning at 431 feet with a 108 mile-per-hour exit velocity.

its too late, selling starts Sunday win lose or draw, it's over lonesome, time to move on.

1st it's not over till DD says so.
2nd should the Tigers be .500 Sunday night they're still in it till DD says so.
3rd except 2010 Tigers really have not had an easy time in winning the division.
4th the Tigers have 12 games with KC and 6 with Minnie sweep them and they catch them.
5 Get close in Aug, win it in Sept. This team is built to win now not 2016.

Every body on this team has to step up and show up on game day. Need to play like Harvey's wall bangers one game at a time and of course win more of them. 2 out 3 could still do it. 65 games left go 43-22 and that's possible

They no longer have any room for this one step forward one step back stuff that's been going on for three months, Greene tommorrow? Bleh...it will take a small miricle IMO.

Tell Santa Claus I said hello.

This team is not built to win now. They aren't built to win, period. It's over man, just embrace it.
