deduno 2013 call up. hit hard vs. Tigers 2012.
Deduno's last trip to Comerica Park didn't go so well, though, as he allowed seven runs in just 2 1/3 innings of an 8-0 defeat Sept. 22.

Detroit Tigers Gameday: Avisail Garcia to start in place of Torii Hunter; Omar Infante to bat second.
from Mlive

Miguel Cabrera is just the fourth player in major league history to hit at least .390 with 14 or more home runs and 55 or more RBIs in his team's first 45 games, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. The other three are Chuck Klein (1930), Jimmie Foxx (1932) and Manny Ramirez (2001). Miggy's next double will be the 400th of his career.

2013 All-Star Game MLB.com Ballot. Vote for deserving Tigers players.

Valverde off tonight after pitching 3 straight days. Benoit will get 9th in a save situation for Tigers.
Leyland would prefer not to use Downs tonight, too.
Leyland said Torii Hunter is just getting a typical day off today.
Brayan Pena had an MRI on his right hand after the game. Nothing to worry about, he said. Leyland said he'll be fine after a night of rest.

Omar Infante leads the Majors with a .429 BA at home in 19 games.

Tigers are 47-18 at Comerica Park since 7/4/12 -- 47 wins and .723 win pct. at home lead majors.

A night off for Torii Hunter means a night in the lineup for Avisail Garcia against a right-handed pitcher, Samuel Deduno. Don Kelly starts in center, with Garcia in right.
Deduno has pitched effectively against the Tigers, and he has pitched colossally bad, like someone averse to the strike zone. The trouble for the Twins tonight is that their bullpen has logged a lot of innings lately. If the Tigers wait out Deduno and try to run up his pitch count, and he can’t throw strikes, it could put the Twins in a really bad spot, not just for tonight but for Saturday afternoon.
As for the Tigers bullpen, the one guy on break tonight is Jose Valverde, who finished out the last three games. Joaquin Benoit will get the save opportunity if there is one. What happens against right-handed batters leading up to the ninth could be more interesting, with Leyland potentially mixing Jose Ortega and Luke Putkonen. It could also end up being a night when Anibal Sanchez gets a bigger pitch count.
The one Tiger with good numbers off Deduno is leadoff man Andy Dirks. Still, it’s tough to go against Cabrera in MLB.com’s Beat the Streak game, even though you know his run will end for a night at some point.

"Leyland said Torii Hunter is just getting a typical day off today."

how many does the guy get? for christ sakes both Miggy and Prince are in much worse shape than Hunter is, and they don't need rest.

thank God he's alright,I'd hate to see Avila catching everyday.

Don Kelly is the only active player to have played all 9 positions, Don 'freakin' Kelly is a baseball player

From dfa'd to nobody else wanted him to starting 33% of our games this year. Lol yeah idk either

Dirks is now hitting .333 (14x42) with two doubles, two home runs and seven RBI from the leadoff spot this season.

Omar with a fc to second, Dirks shaking his hand running back to the dugout,

You kind of expect Miggy to do something great every at bat....fly out,

Prince taking all off speed from dedumdum full count, and another off speed low outside for a walk, 32 walks for Prince,

Victor high chop to third, out by a running step,

dedumdum with 15 pitches.

Is Miggy's next milestone going to be to hit .400?

If he was able to hit .400 Miggy would be the first right handed hitter to do it since the Tigers Harry Heilmann in 1923. and Miggy would be the first right handed hitter since Rogers Hornsby to win 3 straight batting titles.
odds are definitely against it.

Sanchez with 29 pitches and 2 walks already,
Anibal has matched his highest walk total from any of his last six starts. He's only got 16 on the season,

Tigers loading bases without a ball out of infield. Peralta's blooper was only ball to outfield, and he was retired on fielders choice,

Tigers lead 1 - 0,

bases still loaded,

Miggy hard grounder by third and Dirks and Garcia score, Omar to third,

Tigers lead 3 - 0.

Miguel Cabrera extends hitting streak to 10 games with a two-run single. He now has 57 RBIs in 46 games.

In that 10 Games, he's hitting .486 with 12 runs, 17 RBI.

Cabrera now 14-for-23 with 2 outs and runners in scoring position.

With those two RBIs, Miguel Cabrera is now on pace to drive in 200 runs this season. That would be a record.

Updated Cabrera projections: .395, 49 homers, 200 RBIs!

Only Tigers hitter with as many in first 46 games: Hank Greenberg, 1937 (57).

Cabrera now has 57 RBI -- most by an AL player in first 46 games since Manny Ramirez had 60 RBI through 46 games in 1999.

it's almost to the point where,All I want is to see is Miggy crush the ball, if the Tigers lose (and I hope not) it's not that big of a deal,if Miguel gets a couple of nice hits and a few RBIs, then all is well.
