I had no idea he was still alive.

Seems like he lived his life the same way he played the piano (and his several wives and kids all suffered for it).

My favorite story is the one where he drunkenly crashed his car into the security gate at Graceland, then got out and started waving a gun around. Elvis, watching on CCTV, called the cops, and Lewis was hurt by that. Rednecks, man!

Who came first, Jerry Lee Lewis, or Jerry Lewis? I don't feel like looking it up, but I assume Jerry Lewis, and Jerry Lee Lewis had to use the "Lee" part.

I looked it up, because that?s what I do.

Jerry Lewis is about 10 years older, and his first film with Dean Martin - his first credit ever was only about a year earlier - came out in 1950.

The album ?Jerry Lee Lewis,? which included ?Great Balls of Fire? and ?Breathless?l was released in 1958.

That said, in the film ?Great Balls of Fire? with Dennis Quaid, he was Jerry Lee Lewis because that was his name.

A lot of those southern boys go by two/three names, like Billy Bob Thornton and William Jefferson Clinton.

supposedly in college at Alabama Joe Namath adopted the first name "Billy"or "Willy" so he could fit in. Billy Joe Namath or Joe Willie Namath.

I haven't done anything like that. I only care about fitting in with Michiganders, my tribe.

I was a kid when all the controversy of marrying his 13 year old cousin made the news. Late 1950's and early '60's America wasn't ready for this for sure.

I don't think they're still ready for it. I recall they had a child, I think the baby died but I'm not entirely sure on that - got divorced a few years later.
