Rumor: Michigan - ND on for 2018

I ****ing hate noter dame, its fans and all that is the irish bullshit bandwagon of half-truths and exaggeration ....

but I figured this was just a matter of time.

As for 2018, no ****ing way ...no way in hell that we play AT south bend with both the UM schedule and the ND schedule that season.

besides, we "finished" there with Brandon/Hoke ...Dame can come up to Ann Arbor to play us.

#noterdamesucks

agree 100%. **** them.

and **** this shit if we play there first.

and **** moving our schedule around and paying to breach deals with other teams.

South Bend is a shithole. their fans are assholes and/or local white trash.

their team and program are overrated. all their "legends"... the Gipper story, Knute Rockne's bullshit, Rudy... are myths, built on exaggerations and tall tales. ugh.

To me, paying $2M to opt out of Arkansas (screw them and the SEC) and then travel TO South Bend....? No way - it screws the local merchants, stadium vendors and the fans..

ND will never live down the Turtle Job it pulled on MSU in 1966.

Sept 1st at South Bend is official now ....gay.

**** noter dame seven ways from Sunday.

I'm sure it is benefiting UM in some way. Maybe they are going to make it some kind of national TV game and give both teams a bunch of $$$

I doubt UM would do this unless it was a "win" for them.

Seriously? You think losing a home game with ticket sales, merch sales, concessions, etc. is going to be a win for UM? Grow up Peter Pan. Count Chocula.

You're not losing a home game. You're cancelling a home-and-home with Arkansas for at least a home and home series with ND that could last longer than 2 years and be worth more than $2MM to michigan in the end. I'm not saying it is a better deal financially, but it's a bit short-sighted to be whining about the money without knowing all the facts.

The way I read it they aren't losing a home game. They cancelled the home and home with Arkansas. They lose one home game in 2018 but gain one in 2019.

I am not whining. I am saying that to REMOVE a home game from 2018 and give it to south bend is NOT GOOD for the local vendors, etc ...and for the fans (like this year, for example) who have on/off GREAT/Shitty home schedules.

Billionaires playing with billions over the years is not going to help a vendor that counts on home Michigan games.

i want to play ND again, sure, but I'd rather play some unique opponents for a while as well. **** ND. I don't think it's worth breaking contracts to fit them in either, esp. since they backed out of the deal in the first place.

agree with champ, this is stupid

It's bullshit and Warde Manuel is bullshit in my book. You don't cater to ****bags. I'd rather keep the $2million and the Arkansas game.

I can't get my head around why ppl are opposed to M-ND.

**** Notre Dame! Right now...it's all about that Colorado Buffaloes game! I will never get over Kordell Stewart and Michael Westbrook. Never. And then, when we've beaten their asses by 40, it'll be all about The Shartans. And once we've wiped our asses all over their green and white end zones, my hatred will turn to OSU. **** Notre Dame. But, as much as I hate them, they are nothing compared to the rest of these dingle berries.

Schedule them. Don't schedule them. The games are always fun for me, but at this point, we have at least two other games on the schedule each year that are much bigger.

27-3 in 1997 did not assuage your anguish? Or even the road win in the 1996 season?

M beating ND is always gratifying.

not opposed to Michigan vs Notre Dame

start it back up again in 2020

start it up with a home game for Michigan

a friend texted me that he read Harbaugh pushed this, and he usually has good information. the earliest we could have played ND without breaking deals was 2022 or something. he didn't want to wait that long.

it had to be an away game in 2018 because we have too many Big Ten away games in 2019, so we needed a home game then.

If that's the case, then I'm against Jimmy on this one and it's a dumb ****ing move. @ND, @MSU, and @OSU

And 2019 doesn't make any sense whatsoever. That schedule was already set with us @Arkansas

I'm not angry with the messenger, just the message if all this is true.
