The Official MSU vs ][V][ichigan Game Thread

I like how they're already talking Basketball... remember how their last season ended?

Does 2/15 upset ring a bell? If not, then "Biggest Upset in NCAA Tournament History" might.

I didn't even know lewerke was hurt until MSU's next offensive possession. They get on him for boasting about injuring him, but I'm fairly certain he was just excited to sack a QB on a 4th down in a big game, a play that at the time seemed to seal the deal. Only later would he really seal the deal on that ridiculous 2 pt play.

Got into it last night with an MSU fan that was trying to rip on me for being a Walmart Wolverine while he earned his shirt by going to MSU. He said "going to" so I don't know if he ever graduated. Then when I informed him that I never go to Walmart and get my stuff at MDen, he said that he'd rather have his kids rooting for MSU from the penthouse than for Michigan from the trailer. It's almost like he was trying to imply that MSU fans are inherently more wealthy than Michigan fans. Where do they get this? I just replied, "scoreboard" and that pretty much ended it.

And we're supposed to be the the elitist, arrogant assholes.

Its just general message board talk. The nice thing is we a have a small intimate group of classy posters on Detsports (loosely stated but somewhat true). Michigan played a great game and is obviously more talented this year. Take pride and feel happy about it! You know it feels great to be right in the middle of excellence again. Enjoy the fruits of winning because it does feel good.

There are some classy posters(like yourself and others) and its nice to have opposing teams voice themselves. What ive been wondering is where is boogerlovejoy? Mr. Smacktalk has been void this whole time.

I am so sick of the "Walmart Wolverine" tag. It's so ****ing dumb. I've been a Michigan fan since I was barely old enough to tie my own shoes. I don't think I've missed a football or basketball game in years and probably only a handful in total (and only because the games weren't on TV or radio anywhere). I'm passionate about the team and I guarantee I know as much or more than any Spartan or Wolverine graduate about the current and former teams.

Why the **** should I be called a walmart wolverine by some twerpy booger from the state of Indiana that has only been a MSU fan since they enrolled at 18 years old? **** that.

I still don't get why some of you guys get so butthurt over what those dolts say on RCMB. That place is a shit show.

I love when idiots do this. Let me say this, most of the dorks that claim this ever dying love of any football team only feel this way because it is or was the school they attended. The love was never there before hand and they knew jackshit about the program and its past players before ever stepping on campus. They never sat there as little kids getting up early on Saturday waiting and waiting and waiting(time was so slow) for the Michigan football game to start. There is this huge group of us that are just born into it, no matter the school we attended. The excitement is fun and the pleasure I feel rooting for the program is immense. Dude at work called me a Walmart Wolverine the other day. He's from Traverse City and went to State for Criminal Justice. We started talking about the game and what might happen and the whole time I was talking to him, I found out he knew absolutely jackshit about his own team. He's a huge fan, though.

I got to get back to the Saline Walmart to buy some more Michigan crap.

Meanwhile my wife just bought two Michigan dog collars online from the MDen.

They're for our dogs but it's just occurring to me that we should get a couple more for ourselves for our role playing games.

"Come and stay by side if you love me,

Do not hasten to bid me adieu;

Just remember the Red Cedar River,

And the one who has loved you so true."

Whenever I overhear someone using that shit I have one response: "My school, our team." **** them.

For real that crap is stupid. Anybody in Alabama gets to root for the Tide. Same with Texas and USC and OSU. Also Noter Dame Sucks.

I don't know why Wolverine fans from Michigan should be stymatized.

I was this kind of fan, at least at first. Didn't really know anything until I got there and when I got there I loved everything I experienced, but you don't learn that much if all you do is go to games. Didn't really start learning about Michigan football history until senior year.

I still don't understand why MSU went for 2 on the last TD. That might have been the worst coaching decision this year.

But I am glad they did. MD was just trying to shove the last second TD in Michigan's face. I still think that after scoring the TD Peppers should have taken the ball over and handed it to Dantonio and thanked him for the opportunity.

I know a guy who is older than me by a few years (I'm 33). Havent known him for too long, but he always beats his chest about his beloved Spartans. He even called the Harbaugh hiring "a desperate move." Anyway, I brought up Jeff Smoker and Drew Stanton. He looked me dead in the eyes and said, "Who?"

That's when I found out he used to be a Florida State fan before MSU's rise. Hell, he was even born and raised in the Detroit area.

These are the types of fans that piss me off. Bandwagon fans and people who claim the hometown/homestate teams AFTER they get good.

The difference is that you aren't talking about fans who didn't attend the school as being lesser than you. No shame in having school pride. That's a good thing.
