Verlander traded to Houston, TJ Surgery, Wins 2 WS, Wins 3rd Cy Young, a Met, Astro again
Only saw Lolich, McLain, Morris, and Verlander pitch in person. Verlander was in Pittsburgh and he got pulled after the first inning, IIRC, AFTER Ausmus let him make a PA WITH RUNNERS ON BASE. Sure, JV got the bunt down, but, just one of legion in-game blunders by Ausmiss.- byco42

Ernie and Paul called the game. Royals were a premier team; Tigers were not very good. The closeness of the game and that Fidrych was on the mound.- byco42

Perhaps the most-memorable game I ever listened to on the radio outside of the pennant-clinching game in 1968. I was driving up north with my college girlfriend and we were riveted to the broadcast. LINK- byco42
