Game #97: Seattle Mariners @ Detroit Tigers, Sunday July 13th, 2025, 1:40 Pm

Top 6th

Holton in to pitch. He is determined to give up a homer.
Long loud foul .
Gets that guy to pop out. Breath…
Nice K on batter #2.
Nice fast inning for Mr Holton.

Let’s not make assumptions about his mental state. You have no evidence. What we do see is Meadows playing tentatively, both at the plate, on the basepaths, and in the outfield. He isn’t running full out, and his fielding judgement is off. All things that happen if you are forced to completely shut down with a nerve impingement for several months. Hopefully it doesn’t flare up again, and he regains is ability to move quickly, which is integral to his success.
What i DO know is that he looks just like Austin did before he took time away from the team. Just jogging around in the field looking like he didnt want to be there. I can live with taking time for his bat to come around. But just watch him in the field. He's a mental mess right now.

Also, his nerve impingement was in his bicep. That has nothing to do with his legs.

We are just not even swinging at good pitches,
Dingler 2-0 count swings at a low pitch out of the zone and
Grounds out.,

McKinstry getting a few gift pitches that were strikes gets a 1 out walk.

Perez pinch hitting for Vierling gets down 1-2 and flys out softly to left.
Meadows gets in hole 0-2, works it back 2-2, foul, then swings at a Pitch off the plate and K’s That Seattle pitcher had a 4.89 era and Perez and meadows do zip.

My god it never fails Holton gives up Solo Homer.
Throws a 88mph center cut 0-1 Cookie that wasn’t missed.

Listen to dirks and Bennti . Garver is a .221 hitter and has only 4 homers this year. They act like he is someone special. It was yet another terrible pitch from this pen. Nothing was on it. It was right over the heart of the plate. 88 mph right down the middle.

Wrong. Nerve impingement led to no physical activity for a significant amount of time. I am familiar with that situation. You don’t have a clue what you s going on in his mind, other than a body that isn’t catching up like it used to.

You're crazy if you think him pulling up on a ball he should catch easily has ANYTHING to do with that injury. Come on man

Holton has said that his recent improvement in as based on simply locating better. A cutter right in the middle is a mistake. Mistakes cost us.

No, I have been watching him move much more slowly than previously, and he has been reluctant to dive. You really don’t understand what I just said, do you?

AJ made a mess out of this bullpen by over using them with bullpen games way too early this year instead of bringing up starters.

All I know is the team was playing better without Parker and Matt.

I know that your nerve knowledge has dick to do with a guy pulling up on a fly ball he was easily to because he was moving fine.

0-1 count 88 mph cookie right down the middle to a team that is 6th in homers in all of MLB.

Holton has giving up 10 homers this year. That is 4th behind
Flaherty, Mize and Montero. Skubal is at 9 . Holton was at 9.:

That was not a strike to Jones.
Just a bounce out to 3rd.
Baez to second.
Great base running by Baez steals 3rd.
Torres sac fly to RF.
3-3 game.

Greene kaboom to RF! 386 feet ! #24 !
4-3 Tigers

Tork grounds out to end the inning.
