2025 MLB and Tigers Trade Deadline Thread

they should have aimed higher to begin with. I'm not sure how cheap it was. The one guy was their #15 prospect. Finnegan doesn't move the needle for me.

Obviously I like the first start out of Paddack but Id have preferred they packaged the 10th and 15th prospect for a more impact guy.

It’s amazing what they have (in Detroit), compared to what we had over at the Twins”- Chris Paddack post game (talking about the Tigers team facility, coaches, kitchen, etc).
How times have changed! Paddack was very impressed with how great the Tigers infrastructure is. Back in 2017, Justin Verlander did an interview that highlighted how much more the Astros had when he got traded there. Those comments rubbed the old Tiger regime the wrong way.

Agree, that's why you at least give it a go this year. They have plenty of fire power for trades without giving up their top 5 guys. The haul for Suarez wasn't much.

Now that I go back and look Locklear is now a top 6 Zona prospect. Not sure Id love Detroit parting with a solid prospect like that for 2 months of Suarez.

Detroit Tigers trade grade for Rafael Montero: One of worst MLB relievers from 2023-25.
Freep

Here's the No. 1 problem: From 2023-25, Montero ranks 164th out of 174 qualified relievers with a 5.06 ERA — ahead of only Joey Wentz, Jalen Beeks, José Ruiz, Trevor Richards, Carlos Hernández, Joe Mantiply, Nate Pearson, Scott McGough, John Brebbia and Tyler Kinley. The Tigers already tried and failed to fix Wentz, Hernández and Brebbia.

Tigers Acquire Codi Heuer From Rangers.

Before this year, he hasn't pitched in the ML since 2021. wtf?

So the yankees traded for the pirates bednar. Unless I am mistaken, It doesn't appear that they gave up top prospects.

The padres traded for miller from the athletics.

Watching MLB network for the last hour while working out in the gym, not a peep about the Tigers. Others not mentioned include the Brewers, the Blue Jays, Tampa Bay, the Royals, the Braves, or the Reds.

Ive never seen a team that was sitting with the most wins in the AL or NL at the trade deadline NOT make moves to go for it. I guess Harris really is a trendsetter

AL contenders:
Yankees: Bird, Bednar, McMahon
Jays: Bieber
Mariners: Naylor, Suarez, Ferguson
Astros: Correa, Urias,
Tigers haven’t done enough.

Unless something big happens in the next hour and a half, we are positioning the team for a long term “almost, and hoping for lots of luck” position

Correa traded back to houston. That is crazy.

It really looks like with the exception of KC, everyone else in the division has basically given up on this year.

I do not feel as warm and fuzzy as i should given that.

Texas gets Merrill Kelly. I really wanted detroit to get him to give us a solid #2 behind Skubal.

Wondering if from a pitching perspective they are banking on anything from Cobb or Urquidy
