Exactly. It's just Scott Harris' dumb idea to rotate relief pitchers between Toledo and Detroit. All that tells me is they don't have enough good relievers.

The A’s sadly hit the ball better then we do right now.

Every team has gone through at least a couple rough stretches. Milwaukee followed up their big winning streak going 4-6. Dodgers have had several losing streaks. Yanks, Toronto, everyone. Which is why I cant understand why we didnt do more at the deadline. This is as wide open a season as I can ever remember and we could've separated ourselves.

My thoughts exactly. And it might have to do with his tunnel vision and the obsession of bringing "everything" through their minor league system, other than what we have been treated to with patch jobs low lying fruit and reclamation projects.

I just don't get the direction this team is going. If its indeed build from within then what are they doing with skubal. His value goes down with every start he makes and what is the point of keeping him of you don't currently think you're in a window to win it all? He could have brought in one of the biggest hauls of prospects in mlb history.

Casey Mize was 9-2 with a 2.63 ERA, 73 K, and a 1.18 WHIP when he got selected to the All-Star team. He has a 6.19 ERA since the break. Allowed 40 hits in just 32 innings and has walked 10. WTF happened?
Mize has given up 28 ER since July 12. That’s 28 ER in his last 35 IP (8 starts) 7.20 ERA.
Mize in AUG. 26.1 IP 17 ER 27 H 5 HR 5.81 ERA follows a July ERA of 6.32
Mize last 9 games started since 7/1 42 IP 28 ER 6.00 ERA 1.52 WHIP

There is 1 month left in the Detroit Tigers’ 2025 season. Two months if all goes well.
For most of the year, the Tigers have had the best record in baseball. Today, it’s 3rd best (through Thursday’s games) but not by much. A lot of players – as well as those who don’t play on the field – are credited with contributing to the team’s success.
But which player do you believe has contributed the most to this team’s superb winning record?
Because it’s Friday, you’ve got 5 choices to consider. And to make this interesting, we’re going to make your decision a little more challenging. Tarik Skubal is an automatic selection for obvious reasons so we’re taking his name off the board.
There are quite a few viable candidates. Too many to include in today’s poll. And as such, we’re not nominating other pitchers such as Will Vest because he’s only appeared in one-third of this year’s games compared with the rest of the player options.
Those who made the list were evaluated for their extra-base hits, RBI’s, overall slash lines and WAR. And it was a very close nomination race and a number of players like Dillon Dingler were very worthy but juuust missed out.
