Have a look at his last four starts. He was better the third time through once, though he didn't make it all the way through. The other three times, he got hit the third time through, and didn't make it through any of them. He hasn't been efficient enough to get through three times.

The Mets broadcasters refused to replay, and said that they were sure that he didn't (which is typical for them). They didn't even notice until Javy had spent 15 seconds arguing about it. So glib.
And the Mets announcers didn't even notice.
Think you might wanna look at his last 4 starts again. He gave up a 2 run homer vs the angels 4 starts ago after the first 18 batters and had 1 other run score when he left the game with a runner on and the bullpen let him score. Otherwise nothing. That's wild that youre claim is that hes been bad.
I think you might want to look again. Against the Angels, he gave up a double, walk, and hbp his second time through (no runs), and a 2 run homer his 3rd time through. Against Minnesota, he gave a walk, single, triple, and sac fly for three runs the second time through, and a single third time through (only 5 batters). Against KC, he gave up four hits and a walk (3 runs) the second time through, and pitched to 7 batters the third time through, giving up a single. Against the A's, he gave up a single, two doubles, and a sac fly, for two runs the second time through, and only pitched to the leadoff batter the third time through, and walked him. Technically, he gave up less the third time through in three of those games, but he only made it part way through the lineup in two of those outings, and pitched to one batter the third time through against the A's. That is pretty inconclusive, but it isn't arguable that he wasn't efficient enough to get through the lineup a third time. He also gave up 14 runs in those four outings. He also pitched to 26 batters the second time through, and only 16 batters the third time through, so it's a bit like comparing apples to oranges.

Fella, YOU'RE the one that said 3rd time through the lineup AND last 4 games. You're clearly wrong here about him getting hit around the 3rd time through.
He didn’t make it through the third time in any of those games, and he didn’t do good things the third time through in three of those four games. They pulled him early in all three of those games for a good reason. He also pitched poorly the second time through in each of those games. I never said that he got “hit around”. Arguing that he as good overall the third time through is faulty logic; by your logic, he was great against the A’s the third time through, since all he did was walk a batter (the only batter he faced).
Wow, youre dying on the strangest hill. Bottom line is that he was cruising today and shouldn't have been pulled. Especially since there isnt any data suggesting he falls apart the 3rd time through the order
His recent data overrides your feeling that he was cruising, sorry. Giving up 14 runs in the previous 4 games means they were being careful. I'm not dying on any hill, fella. We can all engage in being armchair managers with partial logic and information, and disagree with AJ. That doesn't mean that our logic is infallible. In addition, if you add on the two starts before the ones we are talking about, we see that he pitched to three batters the third time around in one of them, and the last one hit a home run, and he only pitched to two batter the second time around before he was pulled, having given up a couple runs in one and two thirds innings. Look back a couple more starts; he gave up 11 runs in those two starts; two of those runs were the third time around in one game, and he didn't make it through the second time around in the other game.
