Embarrassing performance from the hitters.

Minor League update Friday September 12th, 2025:
Toledo Mudhens (78-64) (39-28) 1st Second half.
They are 5 games behind Scranton, and 2 behind Syracuse. I think international league just take best record each half regardless of division. So basically need to win out and other two need to lose.
Won tonight 12-4 over (68-74) Louisville.
Jung an average was in the low .200’s. It’s up to .256. He has 16 homers and 25 doubles. He was 4/5 tonight. Toledo had 18 hits.
3B-Anderson.279 was 4/5. Ss-Cruz .286 was 2/4.
Vierling was 0-3. He should be shut down till next season.
In My opinion. Pen Mostly clean including

I went to the Mud Hens game tonight. I was shocked to see that Jung has 16 HRs. He may be a trade candidate this off season. They have so many young infielders in the minors...they need to flip some for pitching.

And 25 doubles . I was shocked at both Totals. Why is Sweeney getting more at bats ? Can Cruz play ? How did Anderson look at third ?

Im kind of frustrated. The tigers win the first two game of the road trip and then dropped the next two games. They were pretty lethargic Friday night.

There is still no return date set for Matt Vierling. It is believed that if and when he returns, it will be at the end of the season.
Should the Tigers depend upon him being on the roster? He now has 2 years of post-season experience and was credited with helping his teammates prepare last year for the playoffs.
If he does come back, will he be back to normal or will he need time to ramp up?
Or should the Tigers put the emphasis on Wenceel Perez? Both he and Vierling are RFers.
This is Perez’s 2nd season in MLB. He has started fewer than half this year’s games. He is also a switch hitter.
His slash line is solid: .267/.328/.472/.800. Defensively, Perez ranks as a neutral defender with 0 DRS.
Vierling doesn’t have enough stats from 2025 to properly evaluate but his offensive numbers from 2024 are very close to Perez’s.
Is it time to move on from Vierling and make Wenceel the regular RFer?
