In 1976 and 1977, the Montgomery Rebels (Tigers Double-A affiliate at the time) and Lakeland Tigers won titles in back to back seasons.Montgomery won five titles in six seasons (72,73,75,76,77) then Triple-A Evansville.
In 1979, took the title. Jim Leyland won titles in both Lakeland and Evansville. It is one of the best eras of minor league baseball not only the Tigers but by any big league team.
