Game 4 Preview: Justin Verlander to make 2026 debut for Tigers at Diamondbacks.
The Tigers legend takes the mount to open up a three-game series in Arizona this week.

Justin Verlander earns unusual honor from fellow players as Tigers get used to ABS.
Maybe they will be right...

The photo is Dan Schlereth.

Hey JB. Stop guessing. 3-2 count.. maybe take a hack at a fastball right down the middle.
Both jb and Colt were guessing off speed with 2 strikes. Both k looking.

Jv gets 1st out of the 2nd. Then back ro back singles. Followed by basket catch by Baez...

Well guess we get 1st half SF Jv. Hanging slider to Carroll breaks this game wide open 😳 trail 5-0

Another stupid park takes a homer away from Keith.
Greene k's looking sigh.
Tork k's swinging sigh.
Kevin left on deck.

I just can't stand Baez when he swings at pitch a foot off the plate.

So Dbacks starter just struck out the side 9 pitches. Only 3 other dbacks pitchers did this
Randy Johnson
Kim
I miss it
This guy.

De Jesus not very sharp.
I thought this guy was a k Machine in spring ball ?

Tigers drop a 6 spot in the top of the 7th . Trail 8-6….But with bases loaded 2 outs and a 3-1 count why isn’t Parker Meadows taking a
pitch? Please explain . Even if it's a strike the count is full and it frees the runners up on the full count pitch . He swings and rolls out to second. I’d be having him take..

9-6 Hurter gets the first two outs easy and then groves a BP pitch over the plate that leaves park in a hurry. Not impressed with 1st two pen guys today. Frustrating. Single after homer . New pitcher.

They pick off runner . Then Kyle throws ball over Tork’s head. Runner to third. Kyle gets the hitter . Top 8. Trail 9-6.

Foul out
Strikeout.

Top 9 last chance. Trail 9-6.

Verlander grinds through laborious 1st start back with Tigers.

Tigers 6 - dbacks 9.
Boxscore.

dbacks 9 - Tigers 6: Snakes spoil Verlander’s Tigers return.
Verlander’s command was bad, and a late rally fell short in Scottsdale.

Justin Verlander hit hard in Arizona as Tigers’ late rally falls short.

HARD CHOICES POLL #1 – THE LEADERS.
Totally Tigers

In recognition of the long holiday week that celebrates both Passover and Easter, we’re providing a quicker Detroit Tiger fix for our readers. After all, you’re either waiting for hours in line at the airport or scrambling to get ready for guests.
Every day this week, we’re offering new polls for you to cast your votes and have your say. But not just any.
They’re going to be tough. On purpose.
We’re going to give you 2 choices for each question. One vote only. No substitutions.
The first involves current and past GMs (or PoBO).
You’re going to evaluate each on:
  • overall performance of Front Office and hirings
  • minor league system, drafting, prospects
  • budget
  • roster building
  • evolutionary/inventive skills and strategies
  • achievements
  • where in the timeline of competitiveness the team is
  • level of talent vs results
The first candidate is Dave Dombrowski. Only consider the time period from his first day in Detroit as GM to the aftermath of the tear-down (2015 through 2021).
The second candidate is Scott Harris. Like Dombrowski, start your evaluations with his hiring to the current day and what you believe may happen in the near future given what you are seeing now.
Please vote for the GM/PoBO you feel has been (or will be) the best one for the Tigers.

Who is the better GM/PoBO?

1. Dave Dombrowski

2. Scott Harris

VOTE

I’m not impressed with this years team overall. It’s good but not great and I agree carp should not be leading off right now he’s a mess at the plate.
