All these Lefty Bats and we didn't use Huter, instead pile up Finnegans pitch count in case we need him tomorrow.

So, how did Kevin McGonigle’s first month on the job go?

In some ways, historically well.

Heading into the final day of the month Thursday, the 21-year-old already set a franchise record by any left-handed hitter with 32 hits in April. Ty Cobb didn’t do that. Charlie Gehringer, Lou Whitaker, Norm Cash, none of them.

Tigers minor League update
Toledo Mudhens (16-14)
Won 8-3 at Columbus. Clark is in a slump the last week his average is down to .290. He was 0-4 with 2 runs. Catcher Valencia had his best day going 4 for 4 with 2 doubles. His average is up to .210. Workman had 2 more hits and is batting .350. He should been called up over Z Jung but my guess is he is not on the 40 man roster. Julks had 2 more hits and is at .278. Six pitchers pitched (11k’s and 4BB)
Vanasco last 2 innings had 5k’s and 0 BB. He now has 33 K’s in 17 innings.

FIVE FOR FRIDAY.
Totally Tigers

For the first 31 games, the Detroit Tigers have been struggling to get and stay at .500. It has not been the expected start for a team that has made the playoffs the past 2 years and started the 2025 season as the best team in baseball.
So what’s going on? I’ve got the 5 biggest reasons that help explain the team’s struggles to play consistent baseball.
