GAME 38 - Detroit Tigers vs. Boston Red Sox, May 6, 2026, 640 PM

Max Anderson is on a rehab assignment at Lakeland. (For toledo)
He has nothing left to prove at Toledo. He can hit better than Jung and Lee.
He has played 3rd and 2nd base. I looked at his third base stats and i think they are OK. He bats right. He needs to be the next call up.
This team needs damn wake up call.

Jung is just no good. He can’t hit. Keith cant field.

I see the pitcher Anderson is in trouble again. Needs to DP badly.
Jackass leaves bases loaded 1 out.

I’ve seen enough of this one why is our offense so putrid. I don’t like putrid tiger offense

Seems like a week ago Tork was seeing pitches great. He just K’d on a pitch 6 inches high out of the zone, and Perez should not be on the club. Why is he getting this much run ?
Perez is 10 for 64 now.

McKinstry foot looked off the bag. As another tiger pitcher almost threw the ball away. This time or second.

Damn it Kevin we need base runners . Maybe take a pitch down 4 on a 3-1 count. You hit is hard just to close to the RF.

Greene k’s with one out runners at first and second. Sigh
Dingler K’s. Too.

2 more lobs .

Dingler has killed us tonight risp. Through 8

  • Team LOB8
  • Team RISP0-6 (Greene 0-1, Carpenter 0-1, Dingler 0-3, Jung 0-1)

Man this pen sure does walk a lot of batters.
Smith gets the next three batters.

Jones is just worthless verses RHP. He should not be on this club.
Perez should not be on this club.
Jung should not be on this club.
Rogers should not be on this club.

McKinstry is edging closer to unplayable.
Keith cant field.
Who have I missed?

Plus a bunch of pitchers.

Well, it appears that my thoughts on this series were correct with the Tigers getting swept by a team on the skids in the AL East. The sox were getting Boo'ed at Fenway and their record showed it. Add to that, the fan anger with the Bruins and Celtics who blew a 3 games to 1 lead over the Philadelphia 76'ers, and the schedule sent them to Detroit to a team with too many infielders who are defensively weak at one or two of the positions they are playing every night, and a team that seems to not come through with RISP nearly as much as they should be. Add to that, the bullpen has pitchers who should not be sniffing the club and belong back in AAA, and a pitching staff that looks like Swiss cheese with all the players on the 10 game and 60 game disabled lists. Lastly, we have a lefty pitcher who is a head case, who cant stop tipping off his pitches with a runner on second base, who then gets angry at the runner for picking up the pitch coming and relaying it to the batter.
Now we go to kansas city and will shit ourselves there and be lucky to win one game.
But don't despair, Harris will pick up another retread and AAAA player.

The Tigers now have over $110M in player salaries on the IL. The Guardians’ entire player payroll is $80M.

Flaherty's 10-K outing boosts beleaguered Tigers pitching staff.
Tigers official site

Boxscore. McGonigle is 5 for his last 27 .185/.290/.185

Red Sox 4 - Tigers 0: Flaherty better; bats and defense, not so much.
Each team had four hits, but only one team knew how to make them count.
BYBTB

Tigers waste Flaherty’s strong outing and get swept by Red Sox.

Riley Greene tonight became only the eighth player in franchise history to reach 200 extra-base hits with the Tigers before turning 26-years-old, joining Ty Cobb, Hank Greenberg, Al Kaline, Willie Horton, Aurelio Rodriguez, Travis Fryman and Nick Castellanos ... thanks to @EliasSports
