Trivia: On June 7, 1977, the Tigers played their first game against the Seattle Mariners, winning 5-2. What former Tiger "phenom" and what two future Tigers, one who played one season, and the other was on the 1984 Tigers World Series championship team, were in the Mariners' lineup, ? (No lookups!)

Carpenter with a 2 out 2 run shot!

I'm listening to Dickerson. Hoe we can hold on.

Ticket sales are spiking for the Detroit Tigers home game on June 9th. Why? It's the return of Justin Verlander to Comerica, pitching as a Tiger for the first time in almost 9 years. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/HKBNK36XAAAa65i?format=jpg&name=900x900

Troy Melton has just 9 strikeouts in 20.2 innings this season. Normally that would raise some concerns. But, he’s also averaging just 12.7 pitches per inning, the fewest of any pitcher in MLB.

Max Clark has homered in 2 straight games, doubling his total to 4 in 2026.The power is still developing. But Clark’s chase rate, whiff rate, zone-contact rate + strikeout rate are all in the 89th percentile or higher in AAA. He’s also 5.1 years younger than league average

Tigers Sweep Tampa - Is there a glimmer of hope? 53 minutes.

Tarik Skubal please throw your Sinker less.

Framber Valdez’s confusing lack of ground balls.
Despite similar movement, Valdez’ sinker isn’t killing worms like it should.

7 - 3 Tigers top of the 9th and Vest is pitching. I will be surprised if he Doesn't give up any runs.

He held on. Good.

Boxscore.

Video highlights of the Tigers win over the mariners.

Carpenter and Torkelson help extend Tigers’ winning streak.

Tigers keep good times rolling with 7-3 win over Mariners in opener.
Something happens to Kerry Carpenter when the opposing pitcher is wearing a Seattle Mariners’ uniform.
He goes into beast mode.
His two-run home run off Bryan Woo in the third inning sent the Tigers to a 7-3 win over the Mariners on a rainy Friday night at Comerica Park.
Detnews

Tigers stay hot, beat Mariners 7-3 off Carpenter and Torkelson HRs.
The Detroit Tigers are very happy to have Gleyber Torres and Kerry Carpenter back in the lineup.
Thanks to big hits from their veteran batsmen, the Tigers (26-38) beat the Seattle Mariners (33-31) 7-3 on Friday, June 5, at Comerica Park in Detroit. Torres and Carpenter, both playing in their third games back from injury, paced the Tigers' offense against the first-place Mariners for their fourth straight win.
Freep

Tigers improve to 4-0 in June with series-opening win over Mariners.

Home from the Texas hold T, with pizzas to a Tigers victory. Yea FV getting a win. KC with another homer 8th, Tork with a shot 9th. 12 for the month, Seven runs yea. Torres with three hits, Green with two great box score. Pitching held up. Just play them one game at a time like Harvy wall bangers.

Tiger affiliates
Toledo (29-31)
Won three in a row. 8-4 winners at Iowa .
Clark was 0-5 with 3 k.s. Avg is .267.
Anderson only 1-5. Avg dips to .293.

Workman (5) and Julks (11) homered. It’s a shame that certain batters mash at one level and cant make it happen in the show. Workman had a shot with the cubs and the tigers. How many more chances does he get ?
Six pitdhers threw. Some good some bad.

Rainer sat . The other Ss Gil had a big game

Box

===========
Lakeland (26-28)

Kevin McGonigle said he's fine after a collision with the much bigger Josh Naylor at first base. "I was just more confused why he took it to the bag himself....The whole way, I thought he was going to flip it to Woo. Woo was there early, so I just expected that".
