Correct me if I'm wrong here, but didn't many of Higdon's long runs come in junk time -- I think at least one of those is against Rutgers. So it makes sense that he would have a few more, where as Evans played a lot of significant time with the starters. I'm also not sold on the 40 times...- MAIZEandBLUE09

I'm with you on the under performing backs front. I'm not sure why we can't get one of these superstar kids that just pans out, Peppers style. As far as I know, we've never had one pan out. I want Peters to win the job too. And I want him to win it because he's truly an elite passer and not just because people are tired of Speight. I'm hoping it doesn't drag on until the first game. It would be helpful if Harbaugh just named a guy at some point before that because you have to imagine it's either going to be obviously Peters or close, in which case I think you have to give it to Speight.- MAIZEandBLUE09

What's off to me is that they've announced similar "estimates" for games in far worse weather with obviously less people. My opinion, Offensive line too hard to predict, given they were spread between two teams. No idea if there's any improvement there. I think Peters looked like the better QB in this particular practice, who knows if that's how it's been all spring. Definitely seems like he has more pure talent...- MAIZEandBLUE09

The problem is that with a decent OL or run game, we'd probably have been undefeated last year going into the B10 title game. Had we been able to run out the clock against Iowa and OSU, the games are over. I just don't see us beating OSU unless our run game steps up. We need to be able to run...- MAIZEandBLUE09

I think it's rare that one player comes in and is replaced by another star player. It think what we should be asking is who is the next star player, not necessarily who will replace Peppers. But it's impossible to prove one way or another if another player would have done better. He got a lot of tackles because he was the starter, and got a lot of solo tackles because he often found himself facing someone in the secondary who shouldn't have been there because our DL or LB let him...- MAIZEandBLUE09
