#15 Michigan @ USC, Saturday October 11th, 2025, 7:30 Pm, Game Thread

I didn't like the chip lindsay hire, and that's looking to be the problem. or at least the biggest problem.

too much money and talent here to dick around learning how to coach.
Giving up 30+ points is not good. Neither oc is any good.

Sherrone is a nice dude. I like him a lot..........as an offensive coordinator. Not my head coach. He is too nice and the team has lost all fundamentals. The tackling is atrocious and both lines have no push at all. Strength should not be a problem, yet it is. What is going on in the weight room and what is going on with the fundamentals of blocking and tackling?

And why is everyone smiling on the sideline in the 4th, but Justice Haynes? I would be fkking pssed being embarrassed like that. Haynes is playing with a bunch of pussymen.

Yeah I saw the smiling too.

When you have 12 million .

I guess losses are easier to take.

We’ll see.

Two road losses to two traditional historic powers.

Big chances lie ahead.

Might not be enough to make the CFP even if our guys run the table, I don’t know.

We’ll see.

Neither are bad losses right now, although Oklahoma looks a lot worse now than they did earlier in the season.

If they run the table they will make it. Kind of shocked the dropped from 15 to out of the top 25. I guess the hate is real. Not that they don’t deserve it but other powers would not drop out they would just drop to say 22 or 23.

But this offense and defense is not running the table sadly.
The qb has a skill set they are not using at all.
Wink’s team cant tackle and cant guard the screen pass.
Oh they cant defend anyone.

We're 27 in the AP and 26 in the Coaches' Poll, so not much out of the Top 25.

We are a pretty shaky team. Honestly, again I think the offense is a much bigger problem than the defense. Can't have 3-and-outs or short drives against a high-scoring team like USC, unless you're also going to outscore them, and with a true-freshman QB on the road, it seems unlikely.

Their first TD, they brought on a rules guy who announced that should've been offensive pass interference. You can't block downfield, then become a receiver. Incredible they did that, and it's incredible how bad officiating has gotten. That was on 3rd and goal from the 2, so had that been called correctly, it would've been 4th and goal from the 12, and USC likely would've kicked a FG. Defense realistically held them to 10 pts in the 1st half.

Our opening drive, three straight passes, 1-for-3 for 2 yards. Punt.

Second drive - defense forced a fumble! Need to score now! throw up your hands and say "fine we'll run." Run the ball well and open things up, only to go pass heavy, get bogged down in a 3rd and long, and take a sack to knock you out of FG range. Punt.

I wonder if Chip Lindsay knows what he's doing?

I am not saying our defense is GOOD, but they are okay enough to allow us to be competitive. What's holding us back is the inability to score or at least hold the ball for long drives and keep the opposing offense off the field late in the game.

We don't have the sort of defense that's going to keep us in games all by itself, like Iowa, or the '97 defense. But I mean, you spend the money on Underwood and bringing in Justice Haynes, and McCulley... what do you expect?

I think we'll be stuck with this for a while. No one is going to lose their job with a true freshman QB winning at least 9 games, which looks attainable.

If we lose at home to Washington, or any of these (@MSU, Purdue, @Northwestern (basically a home game for us), or @Maryland) it will be on the coaches. I don't think we can pull off another miracle vs. OSU, but I hope I am wrong.

Sherrone Moore's "Blue Collar" stunt is getting clowned on. Link. They're having fun with this on OSU message boards. Good for them. We've had too much fun at their expense for a while now (four years)

Saying tone deaf things is never a good sign from a coach.

Coaching football is not changing oil for a living, or putting up drywall, and you make $5.5MM a year, man.

Less of Moore is a good thing, IMO. I still don't know why he was anointed the HC position. Anyone?

I guess in the glow of the National Title Moore's lack of HC experience (and relatively young age) didn't seem so concerning.

Or Warde allowed himself to be convinced that Moore's acting HC experience for Harbaugh's game suspensions was adequate proof he could do the job

And of course, we hired Moore for cheap.
