Days of Roar Tigers Podcast: Detroit Tigers have a bullpen problem at All-Star break. These trade targets would fix it. 5:00 minutes.
On "Days of Roar" podcast, Evan Petzold evaluates relief pitching for Detroit Tigers at MLB All-Star break — and the big need to win the World Series.

If the tigers make a deal with Minnesota may as well make it a blockbuster. Im not trading the top three guys. This solves the right handed bat issue and gives us two relief guys. Call up Malloy and it opens a spot for carpenter.I’d prefer to keep Briceno. The others I'm not tied to. I think Jobe will be ok one day.
3rd base still a issue. Platoon ZM, Keith, JB ?

I would trade

Rainer
Meadows
Vierling or Jung or both
Liranzo or Briceño
Anderson or Lee
Jobe or Hamm or Madden

For

Duran
Jax
Buxton

It’s probably not enough. Or is it to much ? Heck idk.
I’d prefer not to trade with a division rival.
I still can’t believe se lost in 2006 and 2012. So frustrating.

Never mind. Buxton has a no trade clause and wants to be a twin for life.

I would be shocked if they traded Rainer, or Briceno.
I've heard mention of Max Anderson and Madden or Hamm.

SATURDAY SURVEY.
Totally Tigers

The trade deadline is now just a couple weeks away and as we’ve seen earlier this month, the cracks are starting to show in this Tigers’ roster.
Especially in pitching.
The starting rotation has taken multiple hits due to injury and pitchers are trying to work their way back after IL stints.
Reese Olson has regained his form as has Casey Mize. Tarik Skubal remains super-human as ever.
However, Jack Flaherty is struggling and Keider Montero is learning on the job. He has the weakest stats of all SPs currently.
The Tigers are still supplementing their rotation with the opener/bulk reliever format.
Is this enough to get them to the playoffs? Do they have depth in AAA to fill in should someone get injured? And do any of those in Toledo have playoff experience?
Meanwhile, the bullpen is exhausted and it’s started to impact how well Tommy Kahnle, Tyler Holton and others perform.
Since June 1st, the bullpen has racked up a 5.18 ERA which ranks 26th in MLB. They are last in their whiff rate.
It’s a huge drop since earlier in the season when they were one of the best pens in MLB.
Which area of the Tigers’ pitching is the highest priority to solve via the trade deadline? Starting or relief?

1. Starting pitching.

2. Relief pitching.
