What Would a Kevin McGonigle Contract Extension Look Like?

Five Things We Liked From Last Week, October 3rd.

Most underrated player in baseball Dillon Dingler.

Tigers/Mariners series dates:
Sat 10/4 in Seattle
Sun 10/5 in Seattle
Tues 10/7 in Detroit
Wed 10/8 in Detroit (If necessary)
Fri 10/10 in Seattle (If necessary)
Mariners open as the favorite.

Tigers-Mariners position-by-position breakdown.

The Mariners rotation will be another tough test for the Tigers.
The Mariners may be without their ace but their pitching staff is very good even without Bryan Woo.

AJ Hinch must avoid lineup decision that nearly cost Tigers a playoff run.
It's not worth the risk.

It kinda don’t matter, do it?

It comes down to what team is hot on the day they play.

That the nature of baseball.

That is what is simultaneously stimulating and horrifying about the new format.

Shortly before their 1 p.m. EST deadline, Detroit submitted their final roster for Saturday's game. Here's how things are looking for the franchise:

Pitchers: Kyle Finnegan, Jack Flaherty Brenan Hanifee, Tyler Holton, Brant Hurter, Tommy Kahnle, Troy Melton, Casey Mize, Keider Montero, Tarik Skubal and Will Vest.

Outfielders: Kerry Carpenter, Riley Greene, Jahmai Jones, Parker Meadows and Winceel Perez

Infielders: Colt Keith, Trey Sweeney, Spencer Torkelson and Gleyber Torres

Catchers: Dillon Dingler and Jake Rogers

INF/OF: Javier Baez, Andy Ibanez and Zach McKinstry

Seaweed and Malloy out. Seattle will be without their ace woo as he’s dealing with a peck strain.

Colt Keith? Kind of a surprise, since he hasn't played in any game since 9/18

George Kirby vs DET in his career:
27.2 IP
7.48 ERA
1.81 WHIP
10 BB
32 K

The Tigers are the first MLB team to win a postseason series immediately after losing five straight series to end the regular season.

Use your off speed stuff kid.
Shoot 1-2 count hit right down the middle

Going to be difficult if the ump gives Kirby the high strike all night.

Same old crap.
Runners on we let the other pitcher off the damn hook.
So frustrating we can’t score.
Such an unproductive at bat by McKinstry.
Wasted the whole inning.

(Shouldn’t McKinstry be bunting)

At least McKinstry was keeping him the zone unlike Beaz who just swings at everything.

It’s possible I may fall asleep trying to watch this boring offseason

Lead off double we’ll surely strand

What a Shocker >
Like clock work Carpenter and Greene fail with RISP after a lead off double by Torres.
Leaves it up to Tork. He flys out to Center.

Both chasing bad pitches. Especially Greene
Just throw a chase pitch and we will expand the zone .

Tigers waste a leadoff double.
