Sadly Mickey York has been let go. Seems like this could have been done better after 25 years with the club.

DETROIT – A Detroit Tigers TV personality who has been with their broadcast partners for 25 years is no longer going to be a part of broadcasts after he says his position was eliminated.

Mickey York shared the news Tuesday on X. He said the Tigers are going in a different direction with their broadcasts, and he will no longer be part of the show.

York has been a staple of Tigers pregame and postgame shows throughout the years, on Fox Sports Detroit, Bally Sports Detroit, and FanDuel Sports Network. He was employed by the networks, and not the Tigers.

The Tigers are currently off to one of their best starts in franchise history. At 22-13, they own the best record in the American League and a 1.5-game lead in the AL Central.

It reminds me when Mr. I took over and he fired Ernie, though temporary. York was awesome.

Damn
West Michigan whitecaps lead 2-0. Heading to bottom 8th. Combined no hitter with 1 bb was just broken up with 2 outs in the top of the 8th. Just a single.
Caps have had five 7 inning no hitters but zero 9 inning no hitters. .

Minor League Update 5/6/2025

Toledo Mudhens. Improve to (16-18) Won 11 of last 13 games .
Vierling was DH. Hit a Homer tonight.
Mudhens pitcher Miller was 1 strike away from winning 4-3 (1-2) count.
Batter worked a 3-2 count . Then smashed a tying homer . Next batter who had K’d 2 times , K’d again. Now game is tied 4-4 heading to bottom of 9th. I guess Iowa (cubs affiliate) is loaded.
Kreidler lead off double, Navigato K’s , next batter deep flyout to
RF. (Kreidler fails to tag) I just don’t get not bunting. Last batter
k’s. Sigh. Game could be over if we only knew how to bunt.
Iowa Cubs loaded bases in 10th. But Toledo pitcher got out of the jam .
Still 4-4 bottom 10th. Lee diving play saves 2runs.
Bases loaded hit by pitch to Jones extends home winning streak to 7.

Toledo 5 Iowa 4 final in 10 innings .

Should be called up soon hopefully. He did DH tonight and strangely he was pinch hit for in the bottom of 10th when the Mudhens walked it off with no hits. They got a catchers interference to load bases and a HBP to win it lol.
