The Tigers have two IF within the top 30 in Baseball America’s top 100 in McGonigle at 2 and Rainer at 29. Hasn’t happened before. To put into historical context: Fryman at 39 in 1990 was the highest shortstop. A rough stretch for Detroit, 1990-2015.

The Detroit Tigers have signed former Astros and White Sox outfielder Corey Julks to a minor league contract.
Per the transaction log as well, Julks was drafted in the 8th round out of the University of Houston in 2017, playing for his hometown Astros. He is the first outfielder the Tigers have signed to a minor league deal this offseason. Batted. 300 for Triple-A Charlotte in 2025.
