I heard on the radio that Carpenter was put on the 10 Day DL.

Strangely they recalled Sweeney. Why him and not Malloy who is actually was hitting in Toledo.

It will be surprising if Kerry Carpenter does not hit the 10 day IL, comes back on the first game post ASB in Texas Friday July 18, gives him 18+ days of healing time for the second half.

Tigers recalled Sweeney because they were down a lefty with Carpenter going on the IL.

Tarik Skubal went into Sunday's game with a 71.5% rate of throwing first-pitch strikes, 2nd-best in the majors, and given that tendency, a lot of the damage against him -- six of the eight home runs -- had come on first pitches in at-bats. He and catcher Dillon Dingler adapted vs. the Twins, throwing a ton of first-pitch changeups, and had one of his best outings of the year. Since his first two starts, he's 10-0 with a 1.74 ERA, 128 Ks/10 BB in 98 IP.

I saw it but it is Dumb by the organization. He needs minor
League games every day. Doubt he breaks out of his slump playing once a week. Unless they plan on starting the Hitting Black hole again. The roster doesn’t need another shortstop with McKinstry and Baez. Unless one or both are banged up.
The move makes zero sense to me. Besides Perez is a switch hitter.and they have Keith. They have plenty of lefty’s. I just feel that you should reward the guys who are hitting unless it’s for an injury at a position you have a need for.

Malloy was hitting at Toledo the last few weeks. The only one really.
Lee was batting .250 ish.

Once he gets up with the tigers he will steal some bases hopefully. My guess is he could have a batter mlb at bat then Sweeney can right now. But the tigers would never do anything that brash. So Could

There is a big difference between Triple AAA and West Michigan high A than ML pitching.
Look at these guys who have stumbled in the majors because their teams rushed them.
Even the kid from the red sox, a smart team, roman anthony, who was ranked top 3 in all of milb. barely batting his weight.
