Anyone heard any rumblings? They did it the one year with Inge and Victorino.

I'm inclined to go w/ Freddie Freeman because a) Fk Yasiel Puig..it's bad enough you get in on a half year of stats let alone one stinking month and b) Fk ANY Giants candidate. Don't know enough about Ian Desmond...

I went with Benoit and whoever was listed first on the NL ballot.

Went with Benoit and Puig.

Would rather see Puig play in this SHOWCASE game than any of those other players. People that would vote against Puig because of his time are doing a disservice to the ASG....IMO.

1. Not his fault he was called up late......but he has taken his opportunity and run with it. He should get praise for that.....not have it held against him.
2. Would you really rather see Ian Desmond or Puig up against Max? I would rather see what Puig can do against Max than just about anyone else. Would love to see Max K his ass.
3. If it were Castellanos or any other Tiger.....would you feel the same way? I guarantee we would all be voting for Puig if he were a Tiger.

But I guess we can't expect anyone with that ****in "beard" to have good judgement skills, can we?

Because there are or will be a good player who will get left off because of a 1 month guy. Next year someone will play 8 days and hit 500 and suddenly he's in.

The biggest mistake will be MLB for adding him to the final vote. You know he'll get in now..

I don't see him taking a spot from ANYONE. It's a fan vote. If a guy deserved to make it he already would have.

Besides, deserving guys get left out ALL THE TIME. The stupid f'n rule of having a player from each team has kept HUNDREDS of players from being all stars that should have been so that the fans can see Carlos Garcia get an all important at bat!! (Pirates, 1994)

My point, and it's just my opinion, is I would rather see Puig than anyone else on the vote. Unfortunately, because it is played mid season, guys make the roster all the time that have just had a good 6 or 8 week period. ****, Verlander has been TERRIBLE for a month.....but he is taking a spot from someone more deserving. Puig has been very, very good since day one. Maybe I'm just being selfish.....but I wanna see Puig bat more than Freddie Freeman or Hunter Pence.

It's a game that was created in an era where there was no (and later very little) TV exposure so that fans from other cities could see players they would never have the chance to see play ball. The whole game is a joke if you ask me. Why not just give HFA to the team with the best regular season record and have the all star game at the end of the year?

I have a bigger problem with the way the starters are picked. You can't trust fans to be able to pick deserving players. Shit, Jeter finished like 4th at SS despite not playing one ****ing game!!

With all do respect to an all time great......Cal Ripken ALONE took the spot of at least 4 deserving players in years he had no right being an All-Star.

I just think this opens up a big can of worms. Like I said, next year a 2 week player batting .500 will get in and then you'll see someone get in because he went 3-4 with 2 home runs in his only game on July 8.

I get what you're saying, but you're taking it a bit too far....

That's the point. Regardless if anyone in 1 month will bat like Puig, you're gonna get I should be in I hit better than so and so in the the month I played. And now you'll get the inevitable where he bats .285 with an .785 OPS and fans will vote him in as a starter.

I hear "Fans want him in". Well I don't. I can understand Dodger fans but I don't get why anyone else cares. Its not like he's going to play much. Pinch at bat maybe.

Btw, last 7 days only batting .308 with 1 HR. By the end of the season he might be batting .285 and yet he gets an all star game. If I was a player i'd call BS.

Puig isn't saying he should be in.....not as far as I know.....you are making up hypotheticals that may never happen and getting mad about it.....doesn't make much sense.

I respect your opinion on this.....i just have a different one.....I'd rather see him play if he gets voted in.

I'm not mad I just think its fair to players who have had more playing time. Freeman is more deserving IMO and Ian Desmond is having another solid year. Playing short nonetheless.

And it makes it worse that places like ESPN and other news outlets are campaigning for Puig.
