And the long losing streak is over.
The division championship at this point is of course hardly secured, but nevertheless, the end of a losing streak that literally lapsed over two halves of the baseball season has thankfully occupied. Hoping our guys can go out and win seven or eight or nine or 10 or 11 and 12 in a row from here.

maybe but Pittsburgh (1-11) last 12 games. We did get 5 bb off Him in Detroit but lost 8-4 in extras

Why so pessimistic? Yeah, Scenes has the best ERA in the world, but the pirates don’t support him that well. Also, they pulled him in the All-Star game to put in the decrepit old Clayton Kershaw.
Winning streaks beget continued winning streets. Losing streaks beget continued losing streaks. The ending of each marks the ending of each..

Split a double header today. Winning game #1: 3-0 Final
Losing game #2: 4-3 Final. Remember doubleheaders in the minors are only 7 innings. These were at home against Memphis (49-45)
Game one Toledo only 4 hits. Navigato 2 run homer in fourth wins game . Lange gets a hold 1 inning 1 k 1 bb
Malloy hit his 3rd homer in game #2 he is batting .323.
Manning got crushed in relief and took the loss. He needs a change
Of teams sadly. Jung 2-4 and his average is only .228 but it was way worse.

Almost worth giving Jung another look to try and drive his value up in a trade. Sweeney needs to spend the rest of the year in Toledo and find the holes in his swing.
Its either Ibanez or Jones vs lefties I guess but that is almost worth going out and trading for at this stage since Hinch values it so much.
That said we still have Carpenter coming back. So its likely Sweeny goes back down for him.
Baez's big comeback turnaround was all because he "mostly" refrained from swinging at those pitches that were a foot off the plate. He is again swinging at the ridiculous unhittable pitches.
Feel the same way. My wife yelled at me because I was yelling "swing the damn bat" at the Tiger hitters. Too many looks at pitches down the middle and then the next pitch that is in the dirt is swung at. I'm sure I just don't understand how difficult it is to hit the MLB pitchers, but the Tigers have not been putting up a lot of runs lately,
