Totally Tigers

We are closing in on the trade deadline and the rumors are starting to fly.
One of them involves a former Tiger, Eugenio Suarez who now plays for the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Tigers traded him and another pitcher for Alfredo Simon.
The D’backs are 9 games back in their divisions but playing around .500 ball. Reports have them talking to other teams about trading him. And the main reason is probably due to knowing that a contract extension is not possible.
Suarez will become a free agent at the end of this year. He’ll be a rental for app. 2+ months.
He has stated that it would be nice to return to the Tigers.
Eugenio is now 34 years old. His offense is terrific with an impressive slash line, 36 HRs and 86 RBIs. However, his defense is questionable. He plays 3B and ranks 4th worst at that position in MLB.
Suarez only plays 3B and DH and really doesn’t fit into A. J. Hinch’s strategy of plug-and-play. However, he is that RHH 3Ber that the Tigers have been seeking.
Given his offensive talent, any trade would have to involve some of the Tigers’ better/best prospects. Is that trade off worth it for a couple months?

Should the Tigers trade for Eugenio Suarez?

1. Yes!

2. Only if it doesn't involve ranked prospects or mortgage the future.

3. No.
