Game # 103: Detroit Tigers @ Pittsburgh Pirates, Wednesday July 23rd, 12:35 Pm

We all know when we start hitting .
Our pitching will get hammered.

Tigers 7th

Perez k’s
Tork doubles
Vierling singles RBI (6-1 pirates) out 2nd
McKinstry 4-6
Dingler k’s

Tigers just cant sustain any rally.
Must be nice to have a starter go 7 innings.

Tigers will fall to 3-6 against the Nationals and Pirates

It's his 1st ever start in mlb. Go back and look at verlander's first few starts
True. He looked better as game went . Still 7 +2 walks in five innings is alot. Sure didnt stop any slump for the team. 7k’s is nice but with the game already in the fridge Pittsburgh hitters were a free swinging, oh wait they have a crappy offense they free swing
A lot.

Just not against the tigers, and all tiger pitchers..
It’s kind of ridiculous how we can’t get this team out.

RHP Troy Melton has been selected from Triple-A Toledo. He will wear #52 and make his major league debut as the starting pitcher this afternoon in Pittsburgh.
To make room for Melton on the active roster, LHP Tarik Skubal was placed on the paternity list.
To make room on the 40-man roster, OF Brewer Hicklen has been designated for assignment.

Have we seen enough of Meadows ?
Now batting .185.
Parker did so well in his rehab stint at Toledo too.

Baez is hurting.

Sweeney cant it.

Vierling is showing signs of waking up hopefully.
Then he k’s last at bat.

Malloy is batting .323/.470/472. Ops 942.
His only issue is 4 homers. 29 BB and 32 K”s
Maybe he could be the leadoff hitter we need.

Detroit was Just swept by team that was 1-11 coming in and 39-61 when Series started.

Tigers 1-9 last 10 games.

Once they were 59-34
Now they are…….60-43

It’s So strange how we are now not Happy with 60-43.
I guess it’s how you get there.
Man what a tough stretch.

The LAD have LOST 11 out of 14. Let that sink in panicked Tigers fans.

To be a great a team, the players need to learn how to deal with adversity. We find out who their real play makers are, and know if the POBO can help them or turtle. now is the time. It’s a good thing not a bad thing.

Vierling's top hand is weak right now. It's why he fouls the ball off to the right so weakly.

Let's see what Melton does his next start after Fetter and company show him the changes to execute.

Ex-Tigers player Steven Moya’s wife Elizabeth passed away unexpectedly on a flight in Taiwan. He addressed fans just days later. Pray for Steven, and his two daughters.

Per the Elias Sports Bureau, the Pirates are the first team to sweep the best team in a league (Tigers) and get swept by the worst team in a league (White Sox) in back-to-back series since the 1980 Padres. It’s been that kind of year.

Good to see Melton calm down and start letting the slider play like it can. Plenty of swing and miss in that arm, but the inexperience is why you should expect him to be in the bullpen in Sept/Oct.

Tigers just sounded trade deadline alarm bells after top prospect’s debut.

BUCKLE UP.
Totally Tigers

I don’t know about you but I’m not having much fun lately watching the Tiger games.
I think I’m starting to suffer from baseball’s version of PTSD – Pathetic Tigers Struggling to Deliver.
You remember the symptoms: struggling starters, bullpens blowing up, losing leads early in the game, playing catch up and offense failing to drive in runners.
I was hoping that this was all over.
